That gorgeous dark skinned lady is 100% right. Anyone who has taken a firearm safety class, or was taught properly, knows the first rule is to assume it’s always loaded. When I teach people, I open the bolt, show that there’s visibly no round in the chamber, and say “this weapon is empty”, then I let the bolt go forward and ask, “is it loaded?” Is the correct answer is yes. It is loaded unless you are physically looking at an empty chamber, in which case the gun won’t fire anyway. Guns are not toys, if they’re treated as such then these types of things happen. That’s why it’s so extreme, like I don’t care if you just saw the bolt is empty, assume one magically jumped in right as the bolt went forward. If you’re shooting blanks are dry firing there dummy rounds, blank firing adapters, and ofc strict protocols. There is no excuse ever, unless maybe like someone bumped me and it dropped and fired when it hit the ground type of unavoidable freak accident. But guns don’t shoot themselves.

In any film production, the armorer is responsible for handing the gun to the actor and confirming that it is what is called a “cold gun”; that means that Baldwin should have been given a gun not loaded with live ammunition. The gun was given by the armorer to the Assistant Director who, in turn, handed it to Baldwin, saying it was a “cold gun”, which means that it is safe to use on the set even if he pulled the trigger, because nothing damaging could happen. The Assistant Director admitted in an early interview that he handed the gun to Baldwin saying that it was a “cold” gun, but did not actually check the gun to confirm that it was safe. The armorer is guilty for not checking the round and for having live rounds on the set as well as cocaine and pot. Her sentence was ridiculously low for her lack of responsibility while doing her job.

The bottom line is no matter who you are you check the barrel of the gun especially one that’s been handed to you. Is it empty? If not, what type of rounds are in it. NEVER assume a gun isn’t loaded.

Key here is he didn’t check himself and it’s known among the movie industry to verify any weapons you hold or use onset has no live rounds and he didn’t do that.

Imagine that you are a widow now, and your kids will never be able to enjoy the presence of their mother again. And then, you turn on the TV and watch the same guy that took her life surrounded by his kids and wife, with a smile from ear to ear, like if nothing happened, and making money by doing so... How would you feel about it?

I heard back when this inciden happened that people on the set were reporting that Baldwin and other members of the crew were out in the desert plinking, meaning shooting metal with live rounds, between takes. Funny how I never heard that anymore following the incident. It's my opinion that they were out target shooting with live rounds between takes and left bullets in the gun. This doesn't excuse the armorer for not checking the gun for live rounds.

Couldn't the round of come from his pocket then regardless of how well the gun was checked by others.

@@adamplevey8385well, that would get into speculation with no evidence. It would also indicate that he purposely loaded the weapon with a bullet from his pocket and intentionally fired the weapon. That's a ton of assumption and speculation. In my opinion, probably not what happened.

IN THE INTERVIEW BALDWIN DID NOT SAY IT WAS A BLANK BUT RATHER THATR THE GUN WAS EMPTY. HE ASSUMED IT WITHOUT CHECKING IT AND PULLED THE TRIGGER. THAT IS NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE IF NOT INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER

I do know he was tired. Fell asleep during testimony today. And Ibdont think he should have been charged but falling asleep is not a good look. And honestly, I think this has eaten him alive. Take a look at police interview where he finds out she died.
