I travelled from France via the channel ferry to Folkestone then to Sherborne, overnight at Nether Compton with relative, then to Dorchester. Had a mate who used to run a camping/yomping store there where I picked up some great kit when he was having a clearout.

If I remember rightly I was told that the clutch had 700 lbs pressure. I certainly recall it was a big lean to hold it out especially as someone would always call a new boy about something just as clutch was out and he was in gear! It would be so embarrassing for REME to drive it into something so your leg shook and you smiled!
