Sleeper pow day at Mammoth Mountain. Woke up to 1-3 inches but felt like 3-5 in some spots. Scored some laps down Climax, Hangman's Hollow, and Paranoid Flats.
That opening shot with the drop in is just majestic

Yep, that was a good one. Not as good as a few days before (4/4) when there were endless windbuff "refills" on the top all afternoon, but as you say a sleeper.

@@rostamzz Thanks for the review bro! I ski Head Kore 99's-180 (2019) in the pow & Salomon Stance 96-182 (2023) in the groomed w/my family & moguls/freeride, But I'm looking for something wider w/a better edge than my Kore 99's for the waist-deep pow. Plus I have a Kore 93-184 (2023) buried at Sugarbowl lol! Thanks for the tip much appreciated!

The shoulder movement is debatable. In Taos Ski Valley, which has one of the best ski schools in the country, the instructors teach for you to turn your shoulders into the turn, not keep your upper body always flush to the fall line.

What is your point? Most people don’t ski ski school perfect but somehow manage to have a great time. I only know I few people with super good form. Most of us can not afford endless training, which is how people generally get perfect form.

You are turning with your upper body, rolling your shoulders, WAY over rotating…definitely need to take lessons…you think you ski well, and you do…but you are an intermediate, with balls and no fear, but initiating turns with your upper body, especially rolling your shoulders is lame…and yes you turn far less than you could. Bringing up a total lack of up and down movements. An instructor is a talking video computer who is programmed in seconds, to pick apart your flaws to MAKE YOU BETTER, AND HAVE MORE FUN. Super simple exercises on the flats in a few hours will help immensely in the steeps, especially if a surfer decides to go skiing ⛷️ 🏄♀️…

You're trying to turn with your shoulders too much by the looks of it, poor technique. Shoulders need to be pointing down the mountain at the fall line, all turning done by legs/knees/hips. Try taking a straighter line down the hill, shallower turns and more of them, just push your heels out feel the edges bite and then flick back the other way. I'm no ski instructor, but you're on the verge of losing control on every turn because of those shoulders.
