"bestarc 145" welder: amzn.to/4eUrUrS EDIT- the exact machine in this video is currently out of stock. The link above takes you to their available machines.

If you buy the one in the link you won't get the one in the video. The one you have linked is gasless. I think there are a few models of this welder FYI. I'd love to find the one in the video.

@@johnvansloun7443 Thank you for bringing that to my attention. They pulled a fast one and changed the link, or ran out of stock on that specific machine. I edited the pinned comment for now.

My concerns about lower cost welders are durability, customer service, and duty cycles. Beyond that, it looks like they do make a good starting point for the person who is not welding day in and day out. I don't like using the term "hobby welder" as it seems to imply a lack of quality and expertise. I am of the opinion that the person who is welding on the weekends on personal projects needs to be able to produce just as good of a weld as someone who makes their living from welding.

wow that is a solid deal and nice mig welds! If you can make nice TIG welds you can MIG well too : ) I might get one of these just to have a more portable one, my miller doesn't work on 120V, another cool thing you might like is Blue Demon makes stainless flux core wire, I used it once to fix stainless marine on site and it works well! Definitely check it out 😎

Amazing how small they have become. My old transformer 'portable' 110 mig is an arm breaking almost 50 pounds.

I’ve got a best arc dual voltage plasma that I bought on a whim from a damaged freight store, it is pretty damn good for the $100ish dollars that I’m into it. I can’t speak to the longevity but it cuts great. Note: I have only ever ran it on 220.

These welds look nicer than what I produce with my ~130 euro fluxcore MIG welder from parkside... May very well be due to operator skill though :D

Great review and a nice little welder. No TIG gun, so do you think it’s worth adding the accessories to equip it for a newbie to TIG?

BTW, A little tip when welding either FCAW or GMAW: ALWAYS PUSH. If the wire does leave slag is less important because the bead is protected by the slag itself but when welding round pieces as boilers p ex you will have porosity problems if pulling. Pushing also leaves less amount of heat. Thanks for your videos!
@6061
Ай бұрын
Never say "always". More often than not, there are exceptions to all these made up welding "rules". What if you want more amount of heat? Or what if you are welding downhill? You typically don't want to push a weld downhill... I'll make a video on this sometime later.

@@6061 youre right, in that scenarios that you are mentioning is better to pull. I should have said "push as long as you can as long as there are not restrictions" 😉🙏

Doesn't have arc-force adjustment so it goes onto my "Just more crap" list when it comes to flux-core. Prolly fine for other stuff, but it won't run flux-core well, simple as.
