Central Watch is an institution. Founded in the 1950s, Central Watch started out as a tiny watch repair shop housed in a stall set into the wall of the 45th Street Passage, a busy causeway in New York's Grand Central Terminal. Now, more than half a century later, Central Watch occupies five of those stalls (including the original) and also has a state-of-the-art workshop on one of the station's upper floors. We sat down with third-generation proprietor Steve Kivel to look at the history of his family's business, what Central Watch offers watch lovers today, and what we can expect from the Central Watch in the future.
