A volcano is an intriguing phenomenon. According to the award winning photographer Cris Olivares we can learn a lot from volcanoes and from the people who live on them. They bring us closer to nature again, closer to the power of the earth and therefore also closer to ourselves. “Feeling the earth shake, watching lava clouds up to twelve kilometer in the sky makes you feel small”, says Cris. “But is also made me feel I belong. I belong here on earth. You don’t make the earth as humans, the earth makes you.”
