A walk to the top of Ben Ledi, near Callander, on a cold misty day. This mountain has an easily recognisable shape that can be seen from many areas of Central Scotland. From the top, there are awesome views over much of The Trossachs, along with breathtaking views down on to Loch Lubnaig.
At 879 metres high, Ben Ledi is a Corbett, so not just as high as a Munro, but make no mistake, this is a serious mountain, and the walk to get there is steep and relentless.
During the hike, banks of fog and low cloud drifted to and fro; one minute you were enclosed in a misty white-out, the next the sun was shining and views abounded. I could not have picked a better day. A truly memorable walk.
