The title is pretty self explanatory but allow me to give you a rundown. This clock uses (I think) a deadbeat escapement, along with count-wheel striking. It is an 8 day movement with chime (it's in the name) strike and of course time. The movement is triple plated. It's a very bulky movement.
Features of this clock include a mechanism used to lift the chime hammers which you can utilize through the dial. It doesn't prevent the chime side of the movement from running, however, so you have to wait to turn the hands until you hear it click to a stop or you'll throw it out of sequence! There is also a slow/fast feature.
Due to the use of count wheel striking, you can't turn this clock backwards. It isn't modern enough and you risk actually damaging it.
The most recent date on the back of the movement is April of 1925. So based on that, I am making the assumption that it is around 95 years old as of 2020! It's still running beautifully. The craftsmanship in these time pieces are amazing.
