Disclaimer from a 20 year old university student: if you do Slimming World CORRECTLY (some major mishaps in this video) and follow the book they give you upon joining to the every last detail, it works. Nearly 5 stone lost for me in just under 2 years, and food optimising is something I will do for the rest of my life now 😀

I've been doing slimming world for two years and I'm only 2 and a half pounds of my target. I was 18 stone and im almost at my target of 13 stone. The key here is to plan and process your meals . Also make sure you know your syn count like Mike says. Really important as one miss count and you be over them

I did slimming world and have lost 7 stone, its a plan that doesn't super restrict. first week is always the biggest loss.. then expect to lose 2-4 pounds a week from then on if you stick to plan. also.. im only 28 XD

If 1 Syn = 20 Cal, 1 TBSP of butter (~100 Cal) would equal 5 Syn. There is no way those 2 pieces of toast have only 1 TBSP of butter between them.

Can't wait to watch this week! Few pointers.. 1.men are allowed up to 25 syns, woman only get 15. 2. You need to explain about speed foods (a major key part of the SW plan!) 3.the plan says at least every meal a third of your plate should be speed food. 4. Only fry light oil is free on Slimming world (after you made your chips you may want to say that in your next video) I had success on Slimming world but kinda feel like it's a cult 😂

Great to see these back! If I can give you some tips for day 1 because there are a few things I’ve noticed that we’re wrong. Breakfast: yes! All good here, yogurts can sometimes be deceiving though because not all are synfree. To class as synfree they need to be fat free AND no added sugar! You’re be surprised how many syns lurk in yogurt people assume are synfree. Lunch: I noticed you sprayed your chips with oil before cooking. I didn’t get a glimpse of what type you were using but typically only the brand frylight is synfree. So I you used anything else you would have to syn it. (Typically 6 syns per 10 sprays) also. You really should have got the peas. To maximise the effectiveness of your diet you need a least 1/3rd if you plate to be speedfood. These are free foods that are really good for you so speed your weight loss. Unfortunately peas don’t class as speed food, they come under pulses so they’re Pfoods for protein. Appropriate speed food would’ve been something like broccoli, or maybe a mixed salad. Dinner: beans on toast. A classic SlimmingWorld staple. Again no speed food on your plate. Also to have 2 slices of bread as your heakthyextrab it needs to be from a 400g loaf, and like the yogurt only certain brands are acceptable. Overall you’ve done well for day one! Just be sure to include plenty of speedy free foods and to measure and weigh your syns!

I was put on this diet plan by a doctor. Since I started I started I have lost 11lbs, may not make a difference, but you don't have to use all 15 syns in a day. I save some and use them on other days.

I lost 150lbs in one year just by cutting out all fast food, limited junk food, and made all meals from scratch. The last 3 months I did a high protein lean cutting program and that really melted the weight and I toned up quick.

I'm an ex slimming world consult Dunno where you thought that butter was only 5 syns especially that thick more like 5 syns per slice What did you drink you claim to be a tea drinker so have you syned the milk in those? Also you are supposed to have speed food (most fruit and veg) a third of your plate To which you had NONE And peas don't count Also the oil spray wasn't free either only 1 cal spray like fry light Also you shopped in Iceland they have shit loads of slimming world ready meals all syn free INCLUDING LASAGNE! And sauces so you don't have to cook Sorry to nit pick

Don't forget, Jeavons isn't a middle aged woman like the average user of this program though, and without knowing his exact height, he still needs to eat around 600 calories/30 'syns' more than a woman would (probably more tbh, I low-balled his height). Doing a rough estimate of the calories he ate through the day and overestimating for everything, he still managed somewhere between a 400-500 calorie deficit. Considering it's his first day at it, the fact that he messed up a bit but still achieved a reasonable deficit range is actually what I'd call a success. TL;DR: Give him a break, you can't expect someone to be flawless at something the first time they try it, regardless of what it is.

Hi there Mike, for male who is a bit on the bigger side you can have up to 20 syns. 15 syns is aimed at women mostly. Sadly bread especially brown is a huge syn level. It's 6 syns per slice I think for Brown and for white bread it's 3 syns per slice.( I have never understood why that is.) Butter on top is also extra syns, I think again around the 3 syn level I think. Also instead of oil spray you might want to get fry light products. Fry light is considered free for cooking with. Milk in tea is also syned, if you have sugar with your tea that again more syns. It all very quickly adds up. My typical day for slimming world is a bowel of porridge at 40g and then a bit of rice milk( this is personal choice) then I have homemade soup with a banana and a apple for after. Then for dinner I might have a chicken fajhita style dinner. Peppers chicken breast and onions in the pan with fry light and a fajhita packet mix. I will have this with rice instead of a wrap. Rice is counted at 2 syns but I don't really count it. Also anything under 100 cal I pretty much class as free. Just maybe stick to 2 100 cal snacks. Lots of veg, fruit and meat. I hope this helps you on your journey. I will be really interested to see how much you loose. I have to say it's so hard at the start to track syns. There's loads of apps that will help you to.

Also, a handy breakfast is 40g of porridge oats (your Healthy Extra B), mixed with a Muller Light, with a handful of frozen berries. Leave in the fridge overnight, and have it for breakfast in the morning.

There's still sugar in the beans. I know you have the 'No Sugar Added' variant, but that doesn't mean it's sugar free. (There's 7.8g I believe, which I guess isn't a huge amount, but still noteworthy).

They're still counted as syn free because the fibre and protein in them outweighs the sugar in them, as long as they are eaten as part of a balanced meal unlike the one in the video haha

I’ve stopped eating all processed food and started making everything from scratch (not as part of weight watchers, just wanted to start eating healthier) and I’ve lost over 2 and a half stone since mid November, with basically no exercise. So I’d be willing to bet you’ll see a difference, even after a week!

Some foods are speed so they have less calories but are more filling. You should have a 3rd speed, a 3rd speed and a 3rd protein. If you have your cereal for breakfast as well as your fruit and yoghurt you won't feel hungry. With SW there's no need to ever feel hungry.

Eat LCHF if you want to lose weight. The high fat in food and drinks in LCHF will make you stuffed without eating too much which results in a low intake of calories, which will make you lose weight.

tbh i found syns and everything , i just stopped eating sugar wheat and other carbs , did not give up healthy carbs like beans and pulses , oats, potato , but to be honest i ate little potato , then i ate 2000 calories and walked off 800, i lost 7 stone and my body never slipped into starvation mode because i was eating 2000 cals, its really just a way of retraining yourself to see food as fule not a reward or a comfort

Hi, I don’t generally comment on videos but thought I would today. I’ve liked the video because I do love your week on series’... however I am a 29 year old woman enjoying the plan, it’s aimed at all ages. I’m afraid, as others have also stated, you aren’t following this plan correctly so far. The red and green days of slimming world are long gone, everything is extra easy now. For the plan to work effectively you must have 1/3 of your plate “speed food” - most fruit and veg but look up the list as peas don’t count. Oil is soooo high in syns, only fry light is free. Also butter is 5.5syns a tablespoon for full fat - looks like you had at least 2 on your toast. The 20kcal/1 Syn rule also only applies to foods with zero free food content in... i.e crisps or chocolate. Check out Iceland for Syn free ready meals too.

For anyone who’s watching this cause they’re thinking of doing slimming world one of the biggest rules is that 1/3rd of your food has to come from fruit and veg. This is where all the weight loss comes from. The other 2/3rds is made up of the rest of your free food
