Fantastic hosting by Moira and really insightful responses from Stephen King. Both of them were just so genuine. Brilliant event - thank you.

I read Salem's Lot ages ago, but great to hear Steve King read it now, particularly after his comment, 'not bad for a 25-year-old'. I'm listening to it, thinking: wow, he wrote that when he was twenty-five?

I dont understand why this has just 180 views and only 6 likes :D Greetings from Mexico, thank you for that great hour with Stephen :) When it comes to Salem's Lot I was always thinking why they have waited so long, why even went to that basement... Why not to burn the house down, in a day time?.. Really bothered me :D Still - fantastic read. I dont think Stephen will ever read this but if by some weird coincidence you do - thank you for all the great adventures I could live through your books!

Because it has the lady in the thumbnail and most go by the picture first and then the title. People gloss over it without knowing it's a conversation with Stephen King.

I think it's wonderful how King has the ability to turn what begins as an 'interview' into a story! Just sit back and enjoy how he makes every answer into a story-telling event instead ! So interesting and amazing !

Fantastic. Mr King read one of my favourite passages of any of his books, the evocation of the town and its inhabitants and how it knows darkness and the darkness is part of it is just sheer brilliance. I did not grow up in a small farming town in Maine but even then that passage speaks to me. Thank you for this.

This was just wonderful!! Thank you SK for your time and so much for your candor and authenticity. You have been my favorite writer since I read The Shining so many years ago (drugstore paperback bookshelf, shiny silver cover, paid for with my bottle return nickels saved up). Salem’s Lot made me afraid of vampires; I hid under the covers because I was afraid a levitating child would be at my apartment window… "You bitch you killed me” from The Shining and Pet Semetery… So friggin scary, I haven’t reread it for years. You have a knack of creating characters that are human and relatable, even the inhuman ones, and the skill of creating words that make them REAL for us readers. I can’t get enough and thank whoever/whatever is out there that you are prolific as well. Dare I say it? No. There is no number one fan. We are all fans, because you are able to express HUMANITY and our deepest fears in words (good and evil), and entertain us at the same time! Keep on truckin'

I had the same copy of The Shining! I agree with what you say, as I've always told people that what makes Stephen King so popular is that his characters are real, and we as readers care what happens to them. Not like in Friday the 13th movies where if Jason kills a teenager we're more apt to say "I'm glad he killed them first...he/she was getting on my nerves" lol

Oh' I would've loved to had been a part of this! With all the short-story's Stephen King has written I can't but wonder if the man has any interest in Creepy Pastas. I did notice that his book 'End of Watch' featured something that acted allot like that Pokemon: Lavender Town Syndrome thing.
