The 3.2 mile Riding Run Trail traverses the steep terrain along the southwestern section of the Cuyahoga Valley, creating a challenging hike. There are several great overlooks of the valley while hiking along the rim, and the 100-150 foot descents into the basin follow along scenic sections of Riding Run and nearby Furnace Run.
In addition to the moderately steep climbs and descents on Riding Run, there are frequent obstacles for hikers in the way of rocks and roots. At times, the singletrack trail widens into double track made up of smooth well-worn dirt, but the majority of the trail takes hikers through rough terrain in the valley forest. The difficulty of the hike therefore varies from moderate to strenuous, with small stretches of easy walking.
Everett Covered Bridge is located nearby, so be sure to pay a visit!
Note: The trail doubles as a bridle trail as well as hiking trail, so keep your eye out for those on horseback!
