An arrangement of the music that plays at the cutscene at the end of the main story campaign of the video games Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky. It also plays during the credit sequences of the special episodes in Explorers of Sky.
I feel that A Wish for Peace isn't as widely appreciated as most of the tracks in this final lap of the game. Though to be fair, in Time & Darkness it only played during that final cutscene where Partner returns to Treasure Town, and it's immediately followed by Memories Returned, another emotionally-damning piece. I realise I'm probably going to have an idea drought for said piece now because I went all-in for this one oops
Nonetheless, I wanted to throw out a more bEsPoKe arrangement of this track. At first I wanted it to be more subdued-sounding yet not just a solo instrument arrangement, which is why I went with just jazz trio. I also wanted to test out the brush set that the new drum vst I bought had. Unfortunately, with the way the arrangement was travelling towards, it quickly got way more up-tempo than I had in mind and to the point where I added in a saxophone at the end lmao
Okay now the 'backstory' I decided for the arrangement. I imagine this is right after Partner returns, and the town/guild holds a little celebratory party out at Spinda's Cafe for saving the world and everything. Of course, You aren't here anymore, and Partner is still trying to recover and process what happened back at Temporal Tower. A bunch of mons from around town come together and form a jazz trio to play this arrangement during the party (thanks for the ideas y'all gave me on Twitter!). Towards the end, Partner can't hold in their emotions any longer and starts blasting a solo on a conveniently-placed saxophone(tm). A while after the party ends, Partner goes to the beach alone to grieve before eventually falling asleep at the shore. As they dozed off, they could almost see a familiar face sit beside them... (or was it just a hallucination oooooo~)
Between my second uni semester and the scale of the arrangement, this video took almost half a year to complete. I finished writing the first section around the time the last PMD arrangement got released. Actually I wanted to invest even more time into the video -- particularly the beach part... I couldn't for the life of me find any rips of the game's particle effects that were actually sorted or indexed -- though I wanted to actually MOVE ON with the Rescoring project!! When will this ever be finished erghhh
ANYWAY I've been writing this description that only precisely 5 people will read for too long. I hope I did the music justice!
Sprites were from both the PMD Sprite Repo (sprites.pmdcollab.org/)
and the Spriters Resource (www.spriters-resource.com/ds_....

This is part of my Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers - Re-scored project (PMD: ExR). It's where I attempt to re-arrange all of the music in the Explorers games!
This piece was originally composed by Arata Iiyoshi, Hideki Sakamoto, Keisuke Ito, Ken-ichi Saito and Ryoma Nakamura, and is the 73rd track on the Sky Jukebox.
