Reflecting on the year of 2014 at Sydney International Airport, in Australia.
This video primarily shows special visitors and my favourite captures this year, some which did not actually appear on the channel previously.
This year saw many good and sad occurrences at Sydney Airport. Some airlines such as Virgin Atlantic ended their services, Qantas retired 2 workhorses of their fleet, the B767-300ER and B737-400. Aerolineas Argentinas ended their Sydney services with the A340-200 and United also changed from the 747 to 777 which was a big loss for the aviation community in Sydney.
New special liveries joined the sky such as Jetstars special orange liveried Airbus A320 and Qantas finally introduced a retro jet. Airlines such as Cebu Pacific would start Sydney services.
The year was particularly good for special visitors to Sydney as Australia would host the G20 which boosted the special movements through Sydney, especially in military form.
This month is also significant to my channel. This is the 5 year anniversary since I started filming movements through Sydney Airport. This channel has filmed and uploaded consistently from December 2009 through to December 2014, creating what may possibly be the most detailed and extensive film archive for Sydney Airport in existence, anywhere.
Special thanks to James S for permission to use his image for the thumbnail of this video. His tremendous photographs can be seen here:
