This video was made over the course of 2022. It was made in three different sites across the UK, each with a different landscape. From rocks to shale to flat sandy beach, they each had their own challenges to get the shots I wanted. It was a lot of hard work given the distances I needed to cover to reach each site. Then there's the walking carrying 16kg of camera gear and of course the very changeable weather. From warm days to freezing mid winter. From sun to rain. But each challenge was overcome and the pictures here and on my web site paint a picture of the life of these wonderful animals. Particular thanks must be given to the various wildlife trusts and volunteer groups who look after the welfare of the seals, particularly during the pupping season. But also as you can see from the images of wounded seals, they also help in catching then removing fishing gear that the seals have been caught up in. And finally a big shout out to Canon. The two cameras, the R5 and R7 have proved to be amazing when using the 500f4 prime. The images are pin sharp, very little noise when shooting at higher ISO and the autofocus is something a few years ago I could only dream of. And of course the video quality is stunning and is to be expected from Canon,. So if anyone needs to get in touch to discuss the video or anything seal related, use the contact link on my web site.
