Thank for the video .i am working on the same pump EW4040. heres my question. I've narrowed down my pressure loss issue to the Unloader Regulator Valve and Seat. I took apart the Unloader Regulator valve and i chcked with FNA and therebis supposed to be a spring inside the Regulator but its missing. I am ordering a new Regulator that comes with a new seat but i am unsure of how to get the old seat out.. any ideas...?? Thsnk you

Ehhhhhhh, have not done that before and the video was a one time thing. I’m not sure if they have a machined seat or if it’s a thread locked seat ring actually. I would imagine leak-by likely wouldn’t mess it up if it’s minimal. Usually steam cutting is where problems start to happen, but as a liquid, the water is not at a high enough pressure to resonate the plug or cut the seat. May not be worth the fort but not sure for removal

Man, if you had only taken off the unloader. I’m working on this exact pump head trying to figure out how the unloader is supposed to go back together, and I cannot find a video on KZitem anywhere explaining this particular unloader. There are no other unloaders like this one that I can find on how they’re supposed to go together. I am fixing this for a customer, and it was not put on right. When I got it, it was apart.

I just bought a brand new pressure cleaner witb this pump on it. One of the ports started leaking straight away. It wound its way out a tiny bit and the o ring was split. Questionable quality control from this brand.... I put a new o ring in myself as the shop i bought it from is an over an hour away but that also did the exact same.... I am going to take the thing back to the shop tomorrow...

@sinewavespecialties2373

I’m not a high end pump mechanic but with water systems, all devices should slide easily because it’s a fluid control manifold. Obviously the valves being seated and all should be a minor interference fit, but valve actuation should not be resistive. Atleast not with excess friction anyway

@@sinewavespecialties2373 thank you brother I figured so as well however I haven't found a video of anyone showing the functionality of a new unloader to have something to compare mine to lol, mine was gummed up and I assume the ring that seals on the shaft of the pin is supposed to slide freely but even after cleaning it up my machine doesn't idle down once the trigger is released, it just stays at high rpms as if I'm still squeezing the trigger at the wand. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong part

you could bore it to match another mass produced part or run a gravity bearing check valve but the pump isnt going to respond much different because the system is built on the theory of restricted flow, everything past that valve would have to be redone to match and the inlet for the pump has to be bored too. No matter what you do, putting a garden hose to a firehose wont change the flow rate because the garden hose is still going to have a max flow that wont change.

Great video! I was wondering if you have an idea why my washer is only putting out like 1000 psi instead of the 4400 psi it should or close to it. I inspected all the six valves and prongs and they all look like you said. They are in good visual condition. I ordered the piston side kit but I want to wait before installing it till I find out more info as to why the low pressure. I have a separate 2600psi washer that feels like it has more pressure than this one. The problem washer is a DeWalt 4400 with the EW4040 pump. I will appreciate any comment.

I have Dewalt with this EW 4040 pump and after 5 months problems get started. After 140 hours of work time It gives only 3400psi instead of 4400psi and started to "shake" a little bit during washing. Do You think replacing this check valves solve this problem or its a piston side problem? Already replaced orings on this valves, nothing changed. Valves looks like in good condition, nothing is broken etc. Always doing oil change after 25h of work with this pump. What do You think?

@@Kris9464 I would see if you can completely back off the pressure regulator, get the pump running, then slowly turn the regulator back in with the trigger pulled and water flowing. See if that helps smooth it out. Pressurizing and releasing rapidly from low regulation pressure may be the issue your pump is having

@sinewavespecialties2373

Best guess given it's pulsing I can say is that an O-Ring blew out and now a fragment of that o-ring is probably bouncing around inside one of the exit flow valves. After tearing this one apart i noticed that the valves were like new, so I assume yours are fine too so I would get an o ring kit and rebuild from there. My video didnt have it, but you will need Loctite thread sealant as well on the 6 brass plugs on the outside when you put it back together.

Another possibility is the engine itself could possibly be misfiring, pull the spark plug and make sure it is clean and gapped, then be sure the armature isnt all carbon packed or bad wires.

I have the same pump.. How do I add a bypass to flow toward my water tank..I do not see a return. I do pressure washing
@sinewavespecialties2373
3 жыл бұрын
If you put a return line on it there may be issues. The knob on the manifold is spring loaded. That spring takes up the excess pressure and when it is too much it will pop up and allow the manifold to have controlled leakage. There’s no need for a return as long as that knob works
@sinewavespecialties2373
3 жыл бұрын
To add a return anyway, best choice would be to put a small 1/4” pressure valve on the output side of the pump and set it for a lower pressure than the pump manifold. However, it may work for a while but it will eventually ruin the pump and possibly cause a lot of issues for the manifold
@sinewavespecialties2373
3 жыл бұрын
To make a return / downstream line, you will need to add a pressure relief to the pump EXTERNALLY as these pumps have their own recirc system internally. The one you add will have to open at as lower pressure than the internal factory one. You will lose pressure from the gun doing this so i hope its worth it
