Ah, I see! It seems like you're referring to the Cham people. The Cham are an ethnic group in Southeast Asia, primarily concentrated in Cambodia and Vietnam, with smaller populations in Thailand and Laos. They have a unique culture and history, and they are known for being one of the few remaining groups in Southeast Asia who practice Islam. The Cham people have a rich cultural heritage, with influences from both Hinduism and Islam. Historically, the Cham were part of the Champa Kingdom, which flourished in what is now central and southern Vietnam from around the 7th to the 19th century. However, over time, the Champa Kingdom was gradually conquered by the Vietnamese, leading to the assimilation of many Cham into Vietnamese society. Despite this, the Cham have managed to preserve their distinct identity, including their language, customs, and religious practices. Many Cham communities in Vietnam and Cambodia are predominantly Muslim, although there are also Cham who practice Hinduism or follow a syncretic blend of both religions. The Cham people have faced various challenges throughout history, including discrimination, marginalization, and political upheavals. However, they continue to maintain their cultural traditions and way of life, contributing to the rich tapestry of diversity in Southeast Asia.

You are very knowledgeable and I am very surprised to hear
Is there any common thread for Sunnis and Shiites to unite them back? E.g., Do they use the same holy book, Qur'an? If they can unite, it would lead to unifying faith for more than 50% of the world's population, at least to the level of respecting each other. (The most prominent Abrahamic religions are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They, alongside Samaritanism, Druzism, the Baháʼí Faith, and Rastafari, all share a common core foundation in the form of worshipping Abraham's God, who is identified as Yahweh in Hebrew and called Allah in Arabic.) Subsequently, it could precede a more peaceful world. Your comments, please.
