The reason People compare Aaliyah and Beyonce is because where Beyonce is today with her worldwide status is where hollywood was placing Aaliyah in 2000. She was deemed the next big star in music and film. Aaliyah was always artistically ahead of any female artist with her image, style and sound. She has pioneered various trends that many within the entertainment industry are just beginning to catch on to. Her music is timeless not because of her death but because of the sound she originated within R&B and music in general. Although she didn't get to fully accomplish what she intended to be as an entertainer she will forever be an icon to millions of people. So in hindsight she most definitely accomplished what she was meant to be in this world because her relevance is still on the minds of people today. For a lot of you younger "stans" that talk out of turn or claim beyonce as some god. Many of you were clearly not even of age during Aaliyah's career or death to rebuttal an opinion. Fact check these credentials. Aaliyah was the first young black female artist of the 2000s generation to balance music and movies collectively to the mainstream. Thus Paving the way for this generation of young black female artist that emerged after her. It's no hype! She had the "it" factor years before social media and these artists you "stan" out over today! This does not mean Beyonce herself would have not been successful. However! Aaliyah was the blueprint to Beyonce's solo career. That in it's self speaks volumes.

Her style, swag, poise, personality, class, presence, how articulate she was, everything about her was so cool & effortless. A true role model. Something that is lacking in today's artists. The industry has been trying to fill her void for YEARS and still has yet to do it. No one will ever come close to the class act that Aaliyah was. She seemed very unhappy when she said the first single is We Need a Resolution. I think Timbaland was forcing Aaliyah to release all the songs he produced for the album as singles, like MTAW and Try Again. and when WNAR flopped, her label kept pressuring her for a hit. You can tell she was unhappy just by her body language when she talks about the album.

It's interesting how people idolize the dead. Nobody knows for sure how anything would have ended up if she hadn't died. Her story has ended, but I don't think that should take away from the shine or success of other female artists today. There is room for more than 1 or 2 successful female artists in the world. Some people are talking about "eras" like they want certain people to fail or fall off. It's ok not to like or support Beyonce's music, but to actively anticipate her downfall or failure just seems sad to me. How does that add to or subtract from your life?

I don't think people intentionally "idolize the dead", it's just that Aaliyah was an amazing person as you know, and are appreciating the legacy she left on this earth. I still appreciate her legacy as well, but that's not "idolizing the dead". They are thinking about what could've been with her career, but of course no one but God knows that.

yes nobody knows because the realm of possibility cannot exist now although it could have taken many directions. I'd say its possible she would have strayed from music entirely to act, or only made like a couple movie hits then continued on with music only or did both. who knows she could also have possibly faded out entirely like many artists from the 90s do because there is a constant stream of new ones all the time. she could have become a producer or a choreographer. there are a number of possibilities that could have been. but only one would have happened. And it could have been positive or negative. We will never know.

Aaliyah your music n legacy are still going very strong n your so alive. I still feel your spirit. Been a while now but you will never ever be forgotten. I will never forget your pure young soul full of life dreams goals. You had style class originality extreme unique qualities talent n skills that no one has matched till this day. Music Industry has been a complete disaster. Too much trash and nonsense. You created magic n light up our world with your beautiful clean soft happy spirit n image. You were so admired n respected loved n adored by everyone who met you and knew you. You will always hold a special place in my heart 💜❤💖💖💖. You marked me for the rest of my life. I will always live you till my last breath. Your were that rare breed. The only thing that can kill the game, bring the house down n the only one that can create a true masterpiece. I love you and miss you so dearly. May your keep resting peace fully. Sleep tight babygirl my dear sweet angel Aaliyah.

While vocally she may not have the range of beyonce, BUT she had more creativity and style and class, beyonce just screams all over the place, aaliyah was intelligent with her skills and that's why I always prefer her......who the hell is rihanna in front of aaliyah.... Pls.....

I wish people stop acting like they know a singers vocal range or what they can do vocally especially when they had vocal training most of their lives you cant determine what they can do vocally especially when they are doing commercial music

Beyonce doesn't sound like she has a very big range. Her voice to me sounds so screechy and I cringe when I hear her music in stores. Aaliyah's voice has much better tonality and is pleasing to the ears. Aaliyah was the real deal!

Idk exactly why, but I get shaky and down when I watch her interviews. 😥😥 I think it has to do with that fact that I see a beautiful soul smiling and so happy, and not here anymore.
