Aaron has 4 Nattys, young and hungry just off the hardest sport in the world, Folkstyle. David Taylor has 2 nattys a decade ago, and the opposite of hungry, he has his olympic gold. Easy pick Brooks! Those who follow the sport know.

Amazing wrestler and I love to watch him. Beating this many top guys in the same tourney is Amazing. What could we please not talk about God so much? Especially the time he denigrated other religions by saying there's only one true God . Religion is a personal matter just thank God quick and then move on maybe give some credit to your parents because without them you likely couldn't have done any of these things. I'm curious though how people would react if a Muslim was talking about Allah every time they interview him after he wins a tournament question mark I bet the same people that are praising him now would not be praising the person if they were any other religion besides Christianity.
@MrTriathlon07

Glad he's not censored. Religious speech belongs in the public square as much as any other. Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Secularist, etc. they are all welcome perspectives in civil & respectful dialogue. He wasn't demeaning anyone or anyone else's belief here - just expressing his. Well done champ!

I truly do not understand the USA wrestling community's blind obsession with organised religion/their faith... Any wrestler throughout the world knows the individual, not God, put in those long hours and all of the hard work to get you to perform at your best on the mat. I'm saddened nearly every post-match interview these days coming out of the states is like this.

Everyone knows Zahid really beat Brooks, but David couldn't beat him? This is what happens when everyone trains at the same club, Wrestlers learn you styles and can shut you down. I guess Yazdani is back with the Gold.

Brooks stalled on Taylor the whole match. Only got a takedown because he countered a Taylor shot and was only called for passivity once. Just like in NCAA refs make opponents work to win the match, while Brooks can stall and counter.

You'll find a lot of the best athletes in the world are spiritual people. It has nothing to do with whether a god is real or not, but more about what the spiritual mindset does to a person. Believing you have a greater purpose that is outside of your decision allows some people to commit 100% of their lives to something, forfeiting any pleasure, more easily than those who don't care about that thought pattern. Obviously this is loosely researched, so these are just inferences from me, but instead of getting disgusted by it try to analyze it and understand it; you'll hold less resentment over the types if you do.
