As a WiFi support engineer for a large manufacturer for the last 16 years, surrounded by many APs in my lab, I can vouch for the fact that I'm still healthy and do not emit any radiation... ;-) Yes, I do have customers that want to disable their APs at night, or want to hide their SSIDs... So cute...

"Disable thier AP" Makes sense, why have it running if your not using it I have a fantastic algorithm for anyone interested, but zoomers may not understand the code switch from tty1 to I'll //thus can be accomplished by turning your head detach from your chair //don't worry, it's not a dependancy, just an overused application Walk to outlet connected to router || the router itself //it's a program you've had since like the 2000's or something, but the syntaxes maybe foreign, make sure you near a solid table to grab incase you do it wrong detach cord from wall || detach power input from router Call function walkToBed Boom

Excellent presentation Brian. I like your approach to interacting with the people you're trying to educate. Some people don't understand this is an introduction that's providing an overview and not a how to presentation on security or hacking. I think the information was presented perfectly for the intended target audience. Peace out dude.

FYI: 1) 802.11ac is only on 5ghz and only supports WPA2/AES (no TKIP support)... 2) 802.11ax (Wifi-6 and Wifi-6e) will only support WPA3 (with improved security), and can still operates on 2.4ghz, because it can go through walls, while 5ghz and now 6ghz (wifi-6e) do not..

Also, I nay have a neibour with the SSID name "getout" Does that make anyone else want to tryn *get in* , nothing malicious, maybe just plant a scrubbed screenshot of the network and a message "don't tell me what to do, but here's a link to video about how to keep me out...."

The 20ft rule is BS, assumes infinite acceleration to a velocity greayer than any human recorded (call it 25mph) and a holstered weapon with nothing in the chamber. Even then, your assuming I have lower the ½ second draw (which may be the case for me, hence my practiceof keeping 1 in the hole) but people can draw faster, especially double action. May not be accurate enough to hit you before you reach them, but you'll find you've brought a knife to a gun fight.

Thx reaqlly enjoy this great speaker! Wish I knew an affordable USB Wifi Dongle with Promiscuous and Injection. WiFi doesn't stand for anything . WiFi Certified means *"NSA Approved/Backdoor to the PIN algorthm for WPS" * RF is safe? Cell phones say that they are not to be used within 2-3cm of your body. Also what about the plant growth effects near high RF areas? Remember most Wii AP s default to 100% transmisson level. This can be lowered to less then half power just by relocating the AP or antenna/s at the install premises.

PSK stands for "pre-shared-key". You can enter a _password_, which is some string from 8 to 63 ASCII symbols, and it will be mangled via PBKDF2. But, if you enter 64 hex-symbols, which is exactly 256 bits of information. This will be a raw key, without PBKDF2.
