Every time you show us a site that has been demolished i am shocked! I just find it hard to believe that EVERY LITTLE thing is gone; nothing is left that even hints of lives once lived. so glad you do these videos Paul. The Adelaide/Victoria historical societies should be grateful. Cottage #1 was so pretty. it had all the features I have come to love about Adelaide architecture: gorgeous bluestone, lovely door and stained glass surround, shotgun hallway, beautiful archway, lovely floors, great back yard, etc. ❤

It breaks my heart as always to see these homes being destroyed. I’m so glad you take you precious time to show it to us and to document them. I look back in my life remember old homes and buildings (like Movie theaters) being torn down. Just to place a parking lot. No sense at all. Progress 😔. The one thing that bothers me. Is seeing all those beautiful light fixtures and chandeliers left in those homes. I can’t think of the thought of them not salvaging them. Some are just so beautiful. Some are just so time of era beauty. 💔 Thank you again for a wonderful video. God Bless.

The first home is beautiful from the outside, always love stained glass. I do love ceiling roses too. The second home was big from the outside. As I am sure you wish as well we could have seen this home before they did damage to the house. The third home love the sand stone. I am hoping they save some of the amazing pieces that the house had.

Loved the first two homes, especially! Just lovely and (aside from from foundation issues) could easily be put right. I could have moved happily into either. I liked the ceiling medallions in the last home. They weren’t spectacular but were delicate and sweet. Not much else in that one to inspire except in the outside.

Hello Paul, first off I'm glad that we were able to see this cottage I also love this small home seeing the stain glass at the front door area the arch area in the hall way. If it wasn't for the foundation I could have lived there and fix up the yard. The second home love the bigger hall way and of course the beautiful large archway and I always love the ceiling medallions and I agree with you on the ceiling moulding can't get better than that. I'm one that looks at the wall paper in each home to see what I like, if it fits in the earlier years time frame I even wish they still made the ones I like. Thank you again for taking your time out of your weekends and sharing these with us.

Thank-you for having these videos so I can see such beauty and appreciate it from all the way over here. I love the look of these older homes. Hi Paul, I can hear in your voice how upset you are about these homes being knocked over and especially betting there after the process started. All 3 of these houses were beauties. They could up fixed up what was wrong and either rented or sold the homes. I guess they feel out with the old and I. With the new. It’s a shame these homes are being wasted. I felt sad looking at the empty lots were these homes once stood. I don’t know what you do for a living but you would be a great Real Estate agent. You know how to show people thru the houses and are very knowledgeable about the history behind them. Just saying I think you would be good at it. Thank you for bringing us along on this sad but interesting exploration. Until next time. Cheers Bye. Stay safe and be well Paul.

🌟Hi Paul! I love them already beautiful character and charm love the bluestone facade and the stained glass. Give me the character homes any day in preference to the ugly boxes I know I say it every time but I can’t help it they need to be saved for others to enjoy them. The problem is that the early period homes were not built on concrete slabs and as the earth moves they suffer the foundation problems. Thank you again. 😊❤️

Old houses tended to have very simple small kitchens, they were treated similar to the laundry...as the times change the kitchen becomes more important and bigger because new appliances need space.

Most of the houses you film Surprise me sometimes. They generally have the bedrooms at the front of the house and the living room and kitchens at the back....just the opposite of most houses in the States. The medallions and stained glass are gorgeous. It is really sad that these places are destroyed. History being obliterated. A series on here called "This House" has been showing some of the "palaces" that were built in New York City by the very rich around the turn of the century. So this demolition has been going on here too. Thanks for posting, I really enjoy the videos.

We have our kitchen and living areas at the back here in Aus, this way we can have our living areas open up to the backyard in the warmer months. Our backyards are typically made like outdoor living areas as well so when the large doors are opened there's a continuous flow from inside to out.
