The old MACK is a 1950's-1960's B-Model. My father was Sr. Final inspector at MACK Trucks Allentown from 1930 to 1973. I grew up around MACK Trucks

While you were growing up, do you ever remember seeing any of this equipment move?
@nelsonbentley7728

I never saw any of it move just sat in the same spot for as long as i can remember it being there. If anyone over there is looking for more projects i do know of a tractor stash up by me they are looking to rehome.

That weld failure looks like it was filled with water and froze.
@jonelsonster

Yes, it really does. Maybe, as it has sat over the years, water made it's way in and split it open. Especially in the spring when it is sunny and gets warmer but then the temp plunges below freezing when the sun goes behind the mountains. That freezer-thaw cycle would make the crack grow.

Drove a couple of B-models. One had their 6773 and the other had a 711 Thermodyne and several R-models, usually with 300 Maxidynes and bigger. The Superliners were the best with the E-9 V-8's.

Very cool. I would love to have time, space, money, and resources to let me get into these old trucks. Hauling an old tractor to plow day or to a pull on an old truck would be awesome! But, without access to a truck, i don't know how I'd even go about getting licensed to drive one! And I assume insuring a commercial vehicle is quite a bit more than a 3/4 ton truck and trailer! Thanks for all your comments! I enjoy them.

@@jonelsonster You ought to be able to run a farm tag and dodge a bunch of commercial stuff but all I ever did was drive and not get into the particulars. I have a pal that runs a sawmill that runs a farm tag. He started out with a single axle and then a Western Star and now has an old RD Mack with a 300 or 300 plus but I think it was a pedigreed motor, maybe a 350 in i now. He might still be running on a farm deal but I'm not sure. He clears lots and saws the logs off them. I got a chauffeurs lisence at 21 and grandfathered into the cdl deal. Check with your local DMV and they'll tell you what you need. And a B-model would be super to pull a tractor with! It's a GOOD life! And I get a KICK out of your videos too!

@jonelsonster Most of the R model Macks had a short hood and popular back east where the truck length laws dictated shorter truck and trailer combinations. The long hoods like that one were built for use out in the western states that didn't have the length restrictions
