I remember your first explore of this wonderful house and it was one of my favorites. So glad you went back. Love the fascinating things in the drawers in the bedroom. Those tin toys, the beautiful marbles and that 1912 penny. That coin must be valuable and seemed to be in pretty good condition. After the drawers I kept hoping you would check out the bottom part to see what was in there. I wonder if there is anything interesting the the cabinet blocking the door in the old bathroom??? Love the longer videos where you take your time. Thank you so much for making these fascinating videos. Also agree with Simon BA about that wonderful intro. Anyone can point a camera and recored old homes but you have made it an art form and visual feast. I live in the southern USA and so much about old Australian homes seems so familiar somehow. Thanks again

I think once upon a time, there was some love in that place. The box of clippings, cards and letters stored in the box in the hutch, fragments of a child's crayons pieces in the bedroom hutch and tiny toys, the pretty watercolor of a picture over the pretty bedpost, all of these things were a woman's touch. Later after she passed away, some family members groped through what they wanted but left these sad mementos.

Wow, that old Chevrolet Stylemaster is very cool!! I never knew they built one like that in the 40's, apparently they were made by Chevrolet/Holden, and only available in Australia. I can't imagine why Chevrolet here in the USA did not copy/use the Holden design for that, it is/was a very slick looking little truck. Sadly that one looks beyond saving, but I am happy to have found out about it and add it to my knowledge of old cars. I hope the owners allow you to save what can be saved, it would be a shame for those things to be lost. Thanks for another great video!!

The King George penny is worth $$$. The dark reed, next to the flute you picked up is a chanter. People who play the bag pipes play these for practice instead of pulling out the pipes all the time. Brand new they run about $50.-$80.00 (Canadian) That price was 30 years ago. Not sure today. A museum will pay for the toys.

The Fyreside Heater was a Kero heater. They used to stink like hell, but kept you warm (if they didn't kill you with the fumes). There were a couple of old school pencil cases (wooden boxes with sliding tops) which you cannot get nowadays - worth keeping. Those two pennies would also be worth a bit now, especially the King Edward VII one. The cabinet in the kitchen is called a Kitchenette, it is where people stored everything like knives/forks, cups, bread, a few tinned items too as people lived with much fewer things than we do now. Some kitchenettes had a drop down lid which could be used for baking and behind the drop-down you would keep flour/sugar etc. Love the old stove, I would be having that restored and the ute. Not sure but think its a Ford.

Love seeing all the stuff in drawers and cupboards. So so interesting!! Great intro too! The old heater is kerosene and apart from being a bit smelly they worked really well. You are evolving both as a film maker and intrepid Explorer!!!

Just found your channel. I noticed the windows are seldom boarded up in these abandoned homes. Here in America they are often boarded which helps protect the home from the elements a little longer.

G'day Paul ... as always, well done and very interesting historically. I'm very pleased you are going to/have spoken to the younger generation about the items which should be saved. I noticed a wooden item with a slide out lid, in the drawer, which I know to be a pencil box. I had one myself 😊 Thanks, Ken

@@lavenderlilac8920 I bet you remember the scratchy nib pen and the smudged exercise book 😊 At 74 I'm pleased I can remember that far back! 😂

I need to get help, I'm SO addicted to this channel. Working my way through ALL of your vids. Mate, I collect Aussie coins, and the 1912 penny with King George V on it, could be worth quite a lot to a collector. You seem to be a really respectful & honest bloke, so maybe suggest it to the owners, or offer to take it off their hands; If you haven't already. Lump in the throat stuff to see the little girls's school book from '58 with the brown paper cover. We all used to do that back in the 50s...👍
