There probably was once a old house that stood there at one time.

I have a Lancaster brand fixture that’s from the 60s that I got off of a really old pole on my family’s farm. It has a little bullet hole and a little chip in the refractor. It also had a bad 150w mv ballast that had bad surface rust. The photocell was from 1999 and the bulb was from 1987. It had been powered off for about 14 years. I replaced the ballast with a 175w probe start metal halide ballast and now it runs mv and mh bulbs very well. It even runs the original bulb, although it does overdrive it. I am scared to put it up because of the fact that it has been in my family for so long and because of how rare it is. The photocell socket is elevated about an inch above the rest of the head and the head itself is quite small. I will make a video about it someday.

If I could tell with a voltmeter if there was still power entering the photocell socket at Line and Neutral, I'd be a daredevil and get an extension ladder out there just to replace the light bulb and photocell!😏😏

There are 2 total in this field.. both unhooked. But I'm sure there are millions out there.. sad to think so many are just left to rot

Probably people shooting at it from the bottom or throwing rocks at it
