It would be a good idea to flush the hydraulic system and put fresh oil in. There's no telling how much crap is in the system. Keep up the good work guys!

used to drive one of these while i was in the Air Force. The load capacity of these Hysters was incredible at 15k lbs, super reliable. The DOD made a great choice with these machines.

LOOK AT THIS!!! I've suggested this project a couple of times and I am SO glad to see you respond to comments. THIS should make so many of your projects just a little bit easier. I'm only a minute in, but I KNOW I'm going to enjoy this. I'm still hopeful for a collaboration with Salvage Workshop at some point, but that ball is entirely in your court.

Two other channels that do this sort of work.... already HUGE channels, Andrew Camaratta and Jesse Muller.... in case you were/are looking for a resource. The only guy I've seen who rebuilds his own cylinders is the Salvage Workshop guy who has a friend that inherited a junkyard of sorts full of industrial equipment and machinery, and before he could use the equipment to take apart his cylinders, he had to brush mow the overgrowth around the insanely huge and expensive machine.

Reminds me of my ARMY motorpool days in Germany 1971 we had a huge hyster fork lift that was maybe 3 to 4 times bigger then your model a driver ran into the 6 stall garage with lift way up and took out the lights oh yeah good times !

Man, I operated a bunch of those back in tha day. Hysters are the best of the 100,000 lbs beasts. If you did a full rebuild on that thing, it would last another 100 years.

You guys are so cool. I'm constantly amazed at what you tackle. If I lived closer (I'm in PA), I'd probably be a "garage rat" learning from you guys. Then again, my wife would probably throw a fit with all of my dirty clothes (LOL). The best I can do is work on lawn and snow equipment, and that's about it. I really enjoy watching you diagnose problems and then figure out how to fix them. Great videos.

As much as I admire your can do attitude in this instance you seem to have missed a major part of a ram repair.. The seals on the bottom of the lift rams ! Chances are they will be fine but if you DO have issues with the lift ( such as slowly dropping back down ) then the bottom seals will need replacing ( spent 6 years working on fork lift trucks in the 80's, and servicing rams was hated by every one in the company ! )
