Hey Ken. Looks like there was some major activity in that area at some point. A mill that processes 100 tons per day would be a beast to feed to keep it operating. Hopefully, that sketchy ladder can be conquered with rope protection, and it will lead somewhere cool. Hi to Dave, and I hope Kenny gets better soon.

Huge operations out there. Cool to see 1917, the year dough boys were starting over to the UK and France for more training. I think the U.S. started getting into battles in 1918 which. I do know it started in 1914. I watched too many videos over the years. Now, I like seeing where you're looking around, because I can't. Back when I hiked a lot, I hardly took pictures, let alone videos like these days. KZitem sure is awesome to get to see things I can't go see. And you know you're being part of that is irreplaceable. Be safe. You thought Dave standing on those boards too long was worrying. I think about those old ladders, whoa they're sketchy in mind. You're a veteran explorer, which is to say, the risk seems normal. Take care👍🏼

Hello Rick, sorry, sounds like you are not getting out. I don't usually film hiking, so i wasn't sure how this would go. Plus i don't have the little fuzzy filter that goes over the mic. I don't know much about 1917, but knew it was close to WW1. I wanted to keep going down, but that was probably the spookiest ladder yet. We will be going back soon and head on down on rope. I wonder if the risk is worth it sometimes, last time out a rock came down and just missed my head.

@@mineadventures7938 yeah, when I saw that spooky ladder sway I knew you would call it 👍🏼 I've been laid up from hiking for about 7 years. My knee went until I could get the replacement surgery. I'm great with that knee now, but 2021- present weight gain is way too high. I hope this summer I can make some progress 🙂

About 10 miles south of here (as crow flies) is an actual concrete military "pillbox" stenciled "US ARMY Sep 1943". Many WWII live fire areas around here including at the foot of this mountain; shrapnel, fuses, even some live 75mm projectiles (as of 1988)!

Big, big fun I love the desert in California there’s really no place like it.… Well, there is but it’s still great .… Oh, and everybody who rides a bicycle for fun for sport or because they have to get somewhere these people do not ride your bicycle exercise, do anything physical if you are not well.… Anything below the head when you are sick is a rest time.… A head cold is OK to exercise with a chest cold the flu do not ever exercise when you were that sick.…

PS.… If you and your old lady are home together and are not feeling well.… I cannot tell grandma don’t want to do.… But please do not over exert yourself.… Sick time unfortunately, I know it’s difficult equals downtime.… It’s a fact it is written in stone there is no avoiding it

Poor filming techniques

Ok, any suggestions, if i keep the light on too bright and up close, it washes everything out, plus the heat is insane as you know since you film. Plus it burns out the batteries fast. So i try to keep the lighting medium and then turn it up when looking at a distance. Plus when we are in the mines, think of the miners trying to conserve lighting, batteries and candles and how dark it must have been to work in the mine, so i try to keep the lights medium so you can experience what it was like to be a miner, but you already are familiar with filming and exploring mines, maybe you can let me know how you do it, thanks, Ken
