Now I know that maybe they could have been old mines. It's always nice to see that there are still places in this country where old stuff like this still exists!

What happened to your rear bumper cover? That first item in the Powerhouse was a Cylinder Head for 2 Cylinders. Those vessels with all the pipes (boiler tubes) were Steam Boilers. The heat from the fuel went through the tubes which were surrounded by water. The water was heated to produce steam to likely run Pumps.

Interesting you called that shack a root cellar. A classic root cellar is one dug underground, surrounded by earth, with either concrete or rock for the walls. The purpose is to store produce that needs a constant cool temp like potatoes, onions, carrots, beets and other similar "rooted" foods. Canned goods as well. A proper root cellar will stay in the mid to low 60's F year round. Even cooler if the surrounding ground is moist.

I'd love that old C30 ( aka 1 ton ) truck. last made that body style in '72 . 350 V8 according to the insignia. even money they use that truck to tow that water tank trailor that is sitting in the shed to get their water supply. Those propane bottles are the new style. probably newer than 2010. before that they used the tall thin bottles that love to tip over. annoyed me because my propane / MAP gas storage kits are designed for the tall thin bottles.
