Founded as a village in 1885 east of Cleveland and incorporated as a city in 1911, East Cleveland, Ohio was aptly named for its location. With General Electric as its main employer and home to the first industrial park, the city's population peaked at 40,000 in the 1950s. Today, nature is reclaiming entire neighborhoods and blocks as less than 13,000 residents remain in the once-thriving city. This video offers a glimpse of East Cleveland's abandoned houses, apartment buildings, businesses, churches, and more.
