That is an awesome little machine. The tooling is eclectic. seeing how there are a number of various styles of screws. Awesome job, too. Although I wouldn’t have used metal tools to bang apart the metal lathe pieces. The bed may need to be changed to something more robust Otherwise it was a perfect restoration.

Thank you very much. This lathe is one of my first restoration projects so I think I will actually leave it like this and display it in my garage, it is a great looking model.

It’s kind of useless and pointless to do all this restoration just to display it in your garage

Il restauro meccanicamente é venuto molto bene ...mi sarebbe piaciuto vederlo lavorare con un motore che lo facesse girare e comunque complimenti

After doing all this restoration, you should at least hook up a motor to it and do something with it. It’s kind of useless to see the restoration process of something that might not even work.

Those that know, don’t use solid hammers, and screwdrivers to remove precision parts from any piece of equipment.

Also, the new grub screws you selected to use are too long. The grub screw is meant to be sitting flush with the surface not sticking up the way you have them. I am merely making these comments not to put you down, but to make you a more watchable KZitemr, if you wish to grow your channel, you need to listen to some of the advice from the viewers

The chuck on this lathe is fixed so I guess it was meant to be just a model. I tried to install an old drill in place of this chuck and it will work, but it is not as accurate as the larger lathes and can not take the higher loads because of the drill head.

A proper headstock with bearings can be made for this, though it will probably be quite the intensive upgrade

The quality and precision that went into designing and building that lathe is unreal. You don’t get that craftsmanship these days.
