All those handles that you keep unpacking are meant for the CorningWare. Because CorningWare was oven proof, stove proof but had no handles, those clip-on to the little piece on each side of CorningWare and are interchangeable they're very hard to find and valuable to go with CorningWare. They were designed so that you can use it in the oven or on a stove top and not have to use pot handles to remove them.

Noritake...they are Japanese. Those six footed ice cream dishes with the yellow flowers. THe bottoms were poured separately from the tops and then they were attached to each other. Because the bottoms are hollow inside, the holes were so that the piece would not explode during the firing. They are vent holes.

The vintage pressure canner is stuck shut. You might try heating it up a little on a stovetop to unseal the lid. You just have to be careful to have the knob on top loose, so pressure doesn't build up. Sounds like the pressure guage is inside, hopefully the glass isn't broken.
