When the owners of this 70’s palace were enjoying it kicked back having drinks by the bar back in ‘75 I bet no one predicted it would be abandoned with a guy from something called “ KZitem “ would be exploring it in the future almost 50 years later... The second front door was cool, led right to the “ party room” , company didn’t have to through the rest of the house!

@@walterbrunswick I was referring to the building materials and skills used in building homes (not the decorative items like paint, carpet, wallpaper etc) Not always, of course, but most in my experience. @@brendaanliker4254 hehe yeh I know I was just poking fun I've worked in houses dating from the 1880's to present Lumber was dimensionally slightly thicker in say 1920's houses (like my grandparents' house) I've done ductwork installations new builds so I was fully exposed to the structural framing most guys I've seen/worked with are on point, and of course I am OCD.. That stereotype of "they don't built it like they used to" needs to fade away It really depends on the builder and the crew The only qualm I have is they build houses oversized... 2000 sq. ft. should be max., for single family home; that is affordable manageable and sustainable

@@brendaanliker4254 I'm starting to draw patterns, after watching these videos... the 6000 sq. ft. "party house" that I lived in for 10 years, built in 1992, had styles/materials similar to my grandparents house, built in 1928... the house is still beautiful, elegant (e.g. white walls, Wayne Scott/wood walls, arch windows, hardwood flooring)... these designs didn't age at all - they are timeless seems that the 90's were going back to the 20's... the only problem is they were/are building them HUGE!... these days us Millennials cannot afford these mansions 😔

Great old party house! If that tall cabinet in kitchen didn’t have any shelves, it’s commonly called a broom closet. I think the outdoor setup is a pizza oven in the middle, real hip to have those back in the day but still a popular feature in most extravagant builds of today. The round knob on switch plates is a dimmer whereby you can dim lighting. Common still in today’s homes. I just turned 60 and watching your vids of the retro builds bring back so many memories! So, thank you for that!! I appreciate your efforts! Stay safe out there.

Thanks for your videos Ethan! Your passion for the style of the houses and not just for the conquest of recording the property makes your content really engaging. I love how you're accumulating knowledge as you go and naming more of the design elements- this helps with the mental picture and cuts out some of the eyestrain I get from trying to absorb every little detail. One thing I've noticed is that houses with refurbished kitchens put their old kitchen in the basement. It would be amazing if you could edit the new kitchen in with the old kitchen so we can get a feel for how the original design tied together! Love your work ❤

ever time u video a house and say it going to be teared down it break my heart....it remine me of a 1957 bungalow i seen....i was in awe because it was like no other house i saw and became my top five favorite houses of all time.....their not enough comment that i could talk about the vintage beauty of ideas that was put into the house inside and out ... from the years it sat abandoned and then for sale people came in and ruin it trashing the place, myself i went it many times with a smile on my face and was hoping i would have the money to buy it and fix it up for my own home, sadly i never did and the house went into the wrong hands and it was torn down, and what also made it one of a kind was it has a little creek like river beside it, and what replace it a seriously ugly house, really really sad and burns to this day of people mind set of older homes thinking vintage style is a disease, the only silver lining it i took photos of it in the front but never really took photos of the back or inside i regret it to this day because i never though it was going to be teared down

The Cool Wall Sconces, The Ceiling Light fixtures. The Way Cool Fireplaces throughout the whole house from upstairs and downstairs. The Bars were pretty awesome too. The one thing that was so weird was that there was no sink in the kitchen. Incredibly strange. I loved the sunken room upstairs, I'm sure that there was so many parties going on here. Plenty of room to do so. The Covers on the wall outlets were very nice. Nice to see so much details here. So sad to tear this down of course. I always look forward to your newest find. Thank you for sharing this home. It definitely showed a big difference from the 70's era to the 2020 era. I agree, it's a shame that to many it's so much easier to them to destroy time capsules ( such as this) and start new. Then to work on it and upgrade somethings, but for the most part leave it original. Everytime I pass a house being demolished. I think about the people who lived there, and what their lives might of been like. I've always been attracted to Victorian style homes. Thanks for taking your time and sharing. It was also nice that it wasn't destroyed inside, with graffiti and all the other destruction people for whatever reason do. Once they come across a vacant home.
