At first, I wondered if "the younger generation" would understand why these new songs mean so much to us "old-timers." I also feared these songs would rely on a sound that desperately tried to be "relevant." I was so wrong to wonder. ABBA are so magical that they fire the imagination of just about anyone who hears them, even in these cynical times. I have to say that I'm one of those"old timers" but I've been involved in music for almost 50 years. This isn't just nostalgia for me. It's also about the joy of songwriting, execution, and production values. Both new songs check all those boxes! Maybe even double or triple-check them.

Their new songs are melancholy, sensational, magical and completely unreal wonderful. I myself am 60 years old and have been there from the beginning. They were unique when they made an impact and that keeps them. I still have all their LP and cassettes at my old turntable from that time. Legends never stop singing. ABBA has conquered the world again!! Imagine if everyone could preserve this warm feeling we feel at this moment and take it with us in the future. Greetings from Sweden!

These folks are in their 70s. Incredible . This song is instantly catchy (but so much more than that) while I Still Have Faith In You is a grower, and is my favourite - that vocal! I like that you two react to Abba when it probably isn't your default type of music. Good on you, it's appreciated.

Expectations are high for this album, and I have to believe they'll deliver. They have a near perfect legacy, so I don't think they'd release anything new that could potentially tarnish that legacy, which is why the Abbatar tour is perfect. I can't think of any band that has broken up for more than 10 years before getting back together, so the audience does see them age very gradually. This is not the case with Abba. A 40 year jump is unheard of, and I love that they want us to remember their younger selves as well as enjoy their new music. The whole thing is brilliant!

actually, this song is difficult to recognize the true beauty at the first. in my case, when i first heard this song, i didnt have any feeling. rather i thought that this song is not enough comparing the previous songs of abba. but after 3 time listening, i noticed that my body was swayed from left to right. and at the fourth time, i was dancing without knowing myself. frankly speaking, this reaction might be the closest to the reality. i cannot trust in other reactions.

@@Xcalator35 É verdade, é incrível mesmo! Também me lembro de comprar o álbum "The Visitors", com 19 anos. My first reaction to "I Still Have Faith in You", the first song unveiled, was relief that it could have been a lot worse - I could see where it was going: a continuation of "I Hear the Music Speak" from "The Visitors"...but this..! "Don't Shut Me Down" is another animal entirely...it's so self-assured, as though the intervening 35 years (it was recorded in 2017) had never happened. Again, I feel it to be another strand from "The Visitors", but this time, more as the happy outcome of "One of Us". I think that it's really significant that this is mostly in a major key...most of ABBA's melodies from about 1980 were have minor keys predominating. And, to reach the Top 10 in the UK nearly 40 years after "One of Us" dropped out of it (December 1981) - that must some kind of record in itself? Like you, I can't wait for "Voyage"...it's pre-ordered, I've got tickets for the show (in July next year)...bring it on. We can't turn time back, but it can be made to appear as though it never elapsed: this song proves that.

(too late, the 100th comment) The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors") Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") Thank for your great reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music now wey waiting for the new album and see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You
