I really enjoyed your reaction to the "new" Abba. The final pictures in the clip were very significant by contrasting Abba returning after a 40-year absence, which, surely, must be unprecedented in Pop Music. Having bought my first record in London in 1960 and have been an ABBA fan since them winning Eurovision with "Waterloo", my take is a little different because I see the view that this is about Agnetha but I, also, think the band themselves are saying that they're back and view the 2021 version with an open mind. They have built a Theatre in East London and they have launched "ABBA Voyage," the London concert performed by 3D digital avatars of the iconic Swedish band and Bookings are already a year ahead:)

Plus the fact that all 4 members of ABBA are now in their 70's...how cool is that? The ABBA of today is more mature in their sound and lyrical content, but you could still identify the unmistakable ABBA sound 👍😍

Pure pop music bliss after 4 decades. The album hit it big in late 2021(N01 in 18 countries USA No2 and top 3 almost everywhere. The ABBA VOYAGE digital gigs are massive in London as well.Lyrics to this song are also said to be a love letter to their fans, kindly asking for permission to be accepted again for what they are now, something that's disarmingly touching, adorable and humble.

This is one of 2 brand new songs from ABBA released early in 2021, first new music in 40 years, followed by the Voyage album later in 2021. As soon as you hear this you know it's ABBA.... they haven't lost any of their style / music ability!

"Don't Shut Me Down" is also about the spectacular new 'Voyage' show and refers to the 'ABBAtars' that push new technological boundaries with their 'performance' as ABBA were in their prime. the lyrics "I'm now and then combined' and 'I'm fired up, don't shut me down' are a plea to their fans to accept the new creations. ABBA and ILM collaborated to create this show that will undoubtedly continue long after the members pass. The show in London plays 7 times a week at a custom-built arena and consists of a 10-piece live band, the motion captured 'ABBA' and original vocal recordings. It will run in London until 2026 (when the land lease expires) and may be brought elsewhere, including Las Vegas, where there is rumoured to be great interest. ABBA spent $140 million to create this for their fans, but looks to make it up within two years.

The show is sooo worth it! It’s like blasting off into outer space with ABBA and being part of an ABBA video. My only regrets are 1) it’s not long enough! I just wanted it to go on for hours and hours! lol! 2) it doesn’t include “Super Trouper”…yet ;) 3) I can’t bop over to London from the US every time I want to experience it, which I want to do A LOT! But, hopefully, some North American solution will remedy that, like Las Vegas.

One of the 2 new Abba songs after 40 years that got exposed via Live streaming 2nd Sept,'21!They caused such a nostalgic impact that many people got captured on camera while bursting into tears from that emotional excitement.Twas a real quake of sentiments.Plenty of footage with such reactions can be seen in utube.I cried too....(and i don't care if that's cool/proper or not.lol)

ABBA is so much more than disco. For some people it seems to be important to classify music in caregories. You can’t do that with ABBA. Give their music a chance and you see why they are goat in modern music history. This was a comeback song (of two and later an album) after almost 40 years apart. Good luck in digging🥰

Yeah, I always get a bit confused when people refer to ABBA as disco music, especially when they have done so many different genres in music. I guess people only have heard "Dancing Queen" and "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" and not for example "Thank You For The Music", "Fernando" or "Soldiers".

From my german perspective and area, I wonder why this little diamond was played not that often as expected by myself on german radio. They still stuck on the old well known stuff. This is strange. It‘s a brilliant song. Take care guys!!!❤

Good reaction and cute head phones. But Abba were not a disco-band. I think they had a few disco songs, as Dancing queen, Summernight City...but mainly they were a pop-group.
