I think it’s the greatest comedy skit ever done. The comedy skit is played in the baseball Hall of Fame

Originally they first did in in burlesque in 1936...hundreds of times over the years...this skit was placed in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

This particular skit was done on an episode of their 1953 TV series, "The Abbott and Costello Show". They also did it in a scene from their 1945 movie, "The Naughty Nineties". It was quite a bit longer and actually better. The duo was eight years younger--by the time they did this skit in 1953 Abbott's health was starting to deteriorate (he was an epileptic) and Costello had heart problems, which killed him six years later. You should really watch the version from the movie. It's a masterpiece.

A sign of true comedy genius they did this skit in the late ‘30s and it’s just as funny today as it was then.

I think this was shot in 1953 on the Abbott and Costello Show. But they've done this numerous times including one of their movies.

The skit here was in 1953, but they did the routine many times in their career. There's another popular skit on YT called "13 x 7 is 28" you would enjoy. They did many comedy movies too and one of their best is "The Time of Their Lives" (1946) that's a historical-drama-comedy. Another good one, more a comedy-musical full of boogie-woogie and swing of the late 30s and 40s, is the war era "Buck Privates" (1941). These don't require watching other movies to understand what's going on. Unlike the funny "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948) which is best experienced knowing these four very popular horror films of the era first, "Dracula" (1931), "Frankenstein" (1931), "The Invisible Man" (1933) and "The Wolf Man" (1941). If you like old movies you will enjoy these anyway, and because A&C meet up with more than Frankenstein's monster! ✌😎

They filmed this in one take in front of an actual live audience. These guys were so good that they could stretch it or compress depending on how much time they needed to fill, and all on the fly. Check out their other great routines including dice, mustard, loafing, the moving candle, and the Susquehanna hat company.

Costello was the boss. Abbott got 60% because he was the best straight man in the country, and they were scarce.

Your volume contrast is massive! Music just about blasts you out of your skin, and then your voice is so quiet....
