Since that interview the truth about Liz Wahl "resignation." Here is what Abby Martin says in her blog: "After my former colleague Liz Wahl resigned live on air, neocon stuntman and Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) senior fellow, James Kirchick, managed her publicity tour. Both Kirchick and Wahl marginalized my dissent while feeding into the anti-Russian fervor being peddled across the establishment press. This counter narrative is significant because the FPI’s stated mission is to pivot US foreign policy to deal with “rising and resurgent powers, including China and Russia”, and Kirchick used Wahl to help rally the public against Russia."

I love watching Abby Martin in spite of my dislike of RT. I get what RT is about. "Putin-friendly" is not what RT is but Russia-friendly is. So, until Abby Martin really 'broke her set,' I never expected any of their staff to say anything against their own sponsor. Their slant is to give us an opposing view of our own empire, from their imperial view, if you like. So, they allow AM to do what she does because she speaks the truth about this empire. I find NPR to be worse than RT because I know how "public" media takes funding from the biggest payers and average donors, alike, and still offers only the perspective of their greatest financial contributors and leaves the views of the lesser public out. RT and NPR both push a one-sided AIDS propaganda, for example, but as I suppose Russia has less vested interest in the lies and the financial gain that comes from AIDS (AIDS is a new form of apartheid which causes all of the symptoms of a classical Nazi ghetto, with unfettered research being disguised as humanitarian aid, defending "victims" from an unseen enemy when the real cause of their misfortune is human) than NPR and other Western media resources have in defending this falsehood. That's just one example I can think of but there are many more. RT seems more sympathetic to "minority" issues in a way that is not toxic or perverted to fit a pernicious bias that someone in power wants to implant in the minds of the audience. I could go on. Great job, Abby Martin!
