Thanks for the video! I just had a question: how would I fingerspell fadas in ISL? For example. in order to introduce myself with my Irish name Siothrún, how would I fingerspell the "ú"?

Most likely not as ISL is “spoken” in English and not Irish so you would just spell it normally

@@Zybit1423 How would you fingerspell an Irish word which uses a fada then? I realise there's a distinction in the signs themselves but say I wanted to fingerspell cáca, fingerspelling it caca would mean something entirely different :p

when you sign fadas in ISL you merely use your index finger to indicate the fada by marking the fada as a line in the air to reflect the fada, for instance Siothrún, you sign the letters normally, until you get to u, then have an upward stroke at the correct angle, before signing the n.

I was busy learning ASL not knowing it’s completely different from ISL and that ASL isn’t used in Ireland lol

ASL and ISL are both related to OLSF (old French sign language)
