What's with these people in the comments talking about how horrible this place is. I guess it's because they're well known for hiring only attractive people? What about Victoria's secret? They don't make anything for fat chicks. But whatever it's a marketing ploy. The illusion of exclusivity.

Just because you work for abercrombie and you're a model there doesn't mean you get to go to cast calls. You only get to go to cast calls if your a cast off. Only a select amount of people get picked to be a cast off (the regional manager picks and they look for a unique look which means not your typical hot guy/girl get's picked as a cast off. For example at my store it's only 5 including myself. And then from there only if you're a cast off then you can go to cast calls.

@FruityDC haha, I run marathons and have done the Spartan race twice. Exercise isn't the issue here. Most people don't look like the half naked teens that grace the walls of an A&F store, but in every other store any average person gets treated like a valued customer, whereas in A&F they act like you don't belong if you're not blonde.

Okay so i don't even work at Abercrombie but these model scouts came up to me and asked for me to go to one of their casting calls. I'm really nervous about it and shocked that they would even come up to me. Has anyone had anything similar that's happened to them?
@UnpleasantlyPeasantly
10 ай бұрын
(I know this is 11 years old but for reference if anyone finds this) Do not respond to those "scouts!" Legit modeling agencies do not approach people on the street. Modeling scams are more prevalent than actual modeling agencies. If you want to seriously model, go to a casting call or get an agent. Sex traffickers sometimes use "modeling" scams to pick up victims too. Be careful out there girls.

I started working at Abercrombie in 2004 when I was 18.. always wanted to be a model for them:) Mike Jeffries was genius in his whole business strategy with having everything being really attractive, white dominated with blonde hair and blue eyes in mind and he was marketing those perfect looks. When he left the company in 2014, a lesbian took over the company and basically flipped everything and made it what it is now. Extremely unattractive and the models are awful looking. It’s nothing like it’s former glory and her and the ones involved ruined the image. Essentially all the ones that could never measure up to Mikes standards and the ones that were outcasts and unpopular and unattractive, are now the ones running the company. I wouldn’t step foot back into Abercrombie now.

Now that the Abercrombie store at the Grove was shut down, where exactly is the new Flagship Store in L.A.?
@michelperez4100
9 жыл бұрын
(I worked at The Grove and shut it down) corporate is in search of a new flagship location that they already have some sort of idea of business as the major problems with the grove is 1) lack of sales average sales were between 12k-25k its minimum exspecatancy was 40k daily & 2) boosting ( massive amounts of theft) a family of about 5-12 for the past few years had been stealing merchandize and hu dress of thousands of dollars worth of fragrance and when me and my coworkers once stopped them and informed them the grove was shutting down and all fragrances will be removed from the sales floor they became aggressive and in the final 2-3weeks had made death threats and armed robbery and in the final week a few were apprehended by undercover LAPD . The expected new flagship ( may be a Hollister or A&F ) will most likely be built in Santa Monica as it is a major area for breaking expected sales, word has it they are either going to build a 3rd floor to the 3rds street promenade A&F or use the massive vacant spot thats next to fossil
