I can’t find any battery specs, but the Intel CPU, 8GB DDR4 memory and 256GB NVMe m.2 SSD are worth £200 retail incl. tax. There must be a lot of secret sauce included that Ableton thinks they can charge £879 for the upgrade kit. Or chutzpah: To state that “Using parts that aren’t from Ableton could be hazardous, and will void your warranty” will likely not stand up in court: PC manufacturers tried that decades OK and had to accept defeat.

Proper breakdown! As always the production quality here is next level. I think it has to be said that the upgrade kit feature is a game changer. Considering that it took a long time after Push 2 came out It's a product that's a bit disappointing A lot of users were looking forward to it Unfortunately, there is no support for Arrange Mode And If it's standalone, I think I need a touch screen and a bigger screen One of the advantages of a standalone instrument is a workflow that increases concentration in limited situations, but I think it's okay to increase the size of the screen for a more advanced midi work method What's better than brother and rival Akai Force is that it's easier to carry around And the advantage is that there's more RAM and you can use MPE and Ableton Stock instruments But aside from that It's a lot more expensive than Akai Force that came out 4 years ago Akai Force has been updating its OS for years Implemented many features such as Arrange mode, disk streaming (not perfect because sample loading is excluded...), Ableton control, and links... It has become a very different instrument from when it first appeared. It's going to take some time Wouldn't Push 3 Standalone go through a similar process? The first product to support 3rd Party VST is I think he'll be the winner of the next generation of standalone instruments

Once again, coming from the company that boasts integrated UI and simple workflow design with their software, this is tragic. Its the complete opposite of that. I have a launchpad pro 3 I use with a mini handheld computer and my workflow is 1000x more portable, fluid, and cost effective than this. My setup costs around $750 minus the cost of ableton software. I can fit all of that in a shoulder bag and the layout of the computer makes it usable even while walking its that simple. The fact that this push is bigger and has twice as many buttons and knobs as the last one is proof that hardware music production is getting out of hand 😂 and STILL no mention of using 3rd party plugins with this thing. Thanks for the amazing video! I don’t get what’s so bad about working with computers ! 😄 why are they fixating on stepping away from it? It’s a bloody great resource! I also don’t get why are ableton selling themselves short when it comes to their music production presentation. They need to get it in them that people are proud of using it as a DAW and are getting great results from it. I’m wishing for more serious DAW features and an Ableton Push “Studio” next where the unit serves the production side not the performance side 🙏🏼

I'd say focus on the instrument is a pretty big one. When working on a laptop, there's all sorts of distractions. Also to some it feels good to step away from the computer after spending the whole working day on it. So basically you have a unit that is 100% dedicated to music making.

@@adrianstoger9352 that’s 100% true for some people bro and I agree with you that it does affect some of us. My issue is that they ONLY focus on that problem and remedy it while there are other things that need to be battled too do you know what I mean ? So what I’m saying is, you solved the former issue with Push 3 so it’s time to sort the latter issues for studio based folk with “Push Studio” .

In fact, I'm disappointed. There are only two serious novelties: the first is that Ableton finally has a groovebox and the second is multidirectional pads. Hmmm what about the screen? Again, it was small and non-contact... and the size of the whole thing is big again and the weight too. I think I was most disappointed with the price, I was waiting for a new Push or a new Force Akai ... so far it stays on my Launchpad Pro 3, and we will see what Akai will do

WTF ? I was very excited what will ve the ne Push 3. Ok nice features but come on !!!! Why could you not give it a bigger screen so mixing and mastering would be less painful and I would not have to have a softube controller for that!! Why could the bigger screen not be tilted so the work ergonomy would be better ? Why at least does it not have some small leg stands that would tilt the whole push for Easter work and view!? I am disappointed.

GR8 overview Andrew... you should be able-to have an audio record buffer to go with the midi listening ,that you could set the recording time to say up to 40 mins like BESKPOKE DAW or 404 mk2......would have liked to have seen more Eurorack stuff setup being controlled by the Push 3. .....ps shaker game 100

One of the best musicians on KZitem. Great writing, ability to explain to the point with very little fluff, and really showing what one person is capable of. Cheers to many more years, Andrew!

Great for performers, not so much for producers and people who primarily use arranging to create their tracks… MPE looks great, as well as the jog wheel. Hopefully the jog wheel is on its own daughter board, instead of soldered directly to the main board… so it can easily be replaced, as we all know, rotary encoders will need replacing…. I wish they would add a new mode for the pitch bend strip and allow it to act as the cross fader as well…

Interestingly most people perform with arrangement because you can have backing tracks running while you add as many different things as you want and can have cues happen exactly when you want without having to press a button or set up follow actions. So this is really an idea generator/production tool

Lol Ableton pays for Push 3 content the morning Apple is supposed to be releasing Logic Pro for iPad. I see you Ableton. Bad form.

The Huanganator! Always delivers. Thanks for this video, as no one can deliver the way you do. I was one device to make music-JUST ONE. Can Push 3 make Harsh Noise/ Power Electronics? It’s either this device or a Make Noise black and Gold plus. If you were thrown in prison for a year or two, which of those 2 would you take with you? Is Push 3 boring to use by itself?

Sadly, Ableton missed out on improving the screen size, nor added a few more knobs, that's why I stopped using my push 2. Who wants to work on such a small screen on a standalone unit? Very (too) expensive. If the screen size would be 25% larger, had another row of knobs for real time fiddling, it could have been enticing.

Way to expensive for home producers, not meant I for people that own/owned push 2. Dropping Ableton, and their shotty overpriced shit, and moving to Akai/FL Studio. Love your videos though, and for someone such as yourself this is a great purchase. But not for the masses.

All of these standalone devices are just missing bluetooth to transmit audio to wireless speakers
