ABMC's 10th visitor center opened this week at Netherlands American Cemetery.✨
🎥The visitor center was dedicated Dec. 11,2023, in presence of U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands Shefali Razdan Duggal, ABMC Secretary Charles K. Djou, Governor Emile Roemer, Mayor Alain Krijnen and other invitees.
The exhibit was developed to enable visitors and future generations to connect with personal stories of World War II service members who fought and died in the surroundings of the cemetery during the war, and eventually reflect on the meaning of these selfless sacrifices.
The visitor center is composed of eight sections and a movie theater. It leads visitors through a sequential narrative that introduces vital campaigns across the Dutch landscape and through Germany, contextualizing some of the battles fought by the service members honored at the Netherlands American Cemetery.
Almost 8,300 service men and women are interred at this cemetery, and approximately 1,700 are remembered on the Walls of the Missing.
We are proud to continue sharing their stories so their legacy lives on.
