I remember when I was a kid a had a Datsun hot wheels. It was brown with some yellow accents. I think maybe the window was tinted yellow 🤔 It was my favourite car, ever. And when I was still young I found out they stopped making cars and I was devastated. I didn't know that they 'became' Nissan. When I find out that they were part of Nissan I was excited, but I didn't like the models as much. And I remember telling my friend that that was the case and he called me a liar. It still upsets me bc he was an idiot. His family didn't have a tv and he never read auto magazines, like I did. I spent ALL my time watching and being around cars, so I was really angry when the car company 'Saturn' was being released. I told him that they had plastic side panels so they could bend against dents like shopping carts. He called me a liar and tried to humiliate me constantly saying I was always lying. THEN MY GRANDFATHER BOUGHT ONE!!! 😂😂😂 And we would ride out to our cottage with this guy and he INSISTED that it was HE that told ME that they were coming out. 😅 No tv or car shows, no magazine articles, no connecting connection to someone like my uncle who worked on cars... but somehow, SOMEHOW he knew about it before me and told me, despite telling EVERYONE that I was a liar. 😂 LOSER. But it was the same thing with Datsun. I never let him ruin my love of cars or Datsun cars. But, I wish there were a LITTLE MORE of that Datsun spirit in Nissan cars. I find them all too similar. I like the shapes, but I miss the gorgeous lines of that sleek but strong car from my childhood.

Hello and thank you very much for sharing your story with us, I hope that someday you can get another Datsun like the one you had. I also think the Datsun is an iconic car just like other epoch-making sports cars.
