Well this looks obvious to us because we can see the hole cards with him... But if you're playing against him, all you will see is a guy being hyper aggressive.... The only reason he gor caught was because he won this torunament by calling an all in raise on the river with 10 high and won the hand. If he had been more discrete and intelligent he would probably still be playing today. Im pretty sure there are super users abusing their powers today too... But they're more careful, winning hands that they should and probably settling with an occasional 3rd and 2nd place to avoid raising red flags....

@@YaNoAwantoMas there might not have been then, but there are players right now that can sometimes spot even a bot or cyborg based on things like frequent use of difficult to execute plays that would require hundreds of hours of study for only a marginal increase in EV (something no human would bother with). someone who can actually see another player's cards would be quickly found out, because their winrate over time would not correlate with an organic playing style that justifies that winrate. this guy played 90%+ of hands and pretty much never made a play that lost him money, whilst the vast majority of his plays were -EV if he didn't know the opponents' cards. he really was just incredibly greedy and stupid. even back then there were players who would have figured him out if they played with him on a regular basis.

I have played poker for more than 25 years and won a number of tournaments, in casinos and online. Absolute ripped me off as did Poker Stars and other sites. Now, I never play online. What I do find interesting is that even being able to see the cards, he still hits his hole cards a huge percentage of the time and never gets outrun on the turn or river so I think there was more to it than this scumbag just seeing the hole cards. When I played, I would wait an hour for a hand to hit and usually someone would run me off on the river beating my flopped full house with quads on the river. Whenever I got to the final table, down to 4 or 5 players, one player would hit miracle hand after miracle hand. IE AA three in a row? Yeah, right. Only AK AA KK and the other player would get the rubbish, like 3 10 off. This scumbag should sit in jail til he's too hold to even hold a cup of tea.
