I use both regularly. One thing that I noticed is the Absolute tends to stay clean longer, by quite a bit! I really like both products, but will use the ONR for the wife's car from this point forward, and reserve the Absolute for mine. ;)

I am sure that both products can have a place in our garages. Personally If i do a rinseless wash I do it with the aid of steam cleaner because I want to be sure for the dirt removal. Sad fact is that a normal car wash process can't be beaten by rinseless method. I think it's sad because we do consume so much water and it's valuable

Maybe normal washes get into small areas better than rinseless but I don’t think that remove surface dirt any better. I’ve never felt my car wasn’t clean enough after a rinseless. Obviously if it’s a very dirty daily driver you should use a regular wash

Both are excellent products and will given similar results. If you ever use a rinseless wash sponge the slickness difference between ONR and absolute is much more noticeable than with a MF towel. It’s been cold out since I got absolute so I’ve been using a bucket with warm water and absolute mixes super easily. In cold water I’m sure it’s fine if it’s not totally dissolved. Mix for a few seconds or so and should be good to go. I really find the user experience nicer with absolute.

I don’t trust the sponge personally. This car has extremely soft paint and I trust plush microfibers more to minimize scratches. Any other car sure I’d use a sponge I guess

Thanks for the comparison. Absolute is cheaper than onr but because onr have discount here in canada, i will purchase onr since they dont have much difference on cleaning. I read that absolute stays cleaner longer. Thats maybe because absolute is slicker which makes the dust slides off more than onr

Yes it’s very hard to get objective or non biased subjective information in the detailing world. I fell into the bead maker marketing and bought a gallon. Quickly realized it was not even close to how it was sold

Since I still have the old version, I’m sure you can see it takes me a long time to go through it haha. I actually forgot there was a new version but maybe I’ll test once I’m almost done with absolute. I recall the new onr was supposed to be slicker. If that’s the case they may be very comparable in all aspects

There's a huge difference between the old and new formula ONR, but I wouldn't say in slickness. ONR washing with an MF towel has always been an aweful experience for me, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. With the sponge, which I assure you is absolutely super safe, both were really slick. Also with both formulas, when drying I always use a drying aid, otherwise the towel can get grabby. The difference between new and old, was how quick it beaded up from side-by-side testing I did. It's supposed to be a stronger cleaner, but can't say I have noticed or tested that. Not to say ONR itself can't clean super dirty cars, because it can, but the old formula could too. I absolutely love ONR, it's awesome on interiors and glass, but also for polish removal and in my pad washer. I'll probably give another rinseless a try someday, but i'm completely happy with ONR.

@@rheijne95 ya the towel grabs with absolute too. With onr I would use mckees 914 at qd dilution to help dry. Now I will probably try the same with absolute.

Does it stain the wash media like ONR does long term?
@Almost_Made_It
Жыл бұрын
Do you mean the microfibers? I doubt it since it’s a mostly clear liquid. I’ve used onr for years and never noticed any stains though. Though my towels are all darker colors. Maybe on white it would show
@theoneders2056
Жыл бұрын
@@Almost_Made_It yes, on the fibers of the microfiber towel or wash mitt etc. ONR is been well known to stain the media, it's like even after rinsing and washing it, the fibers remain looking stained like not all contamination is coming off the media. If you use very dark wash media you won't notice but it doesn't have to be white to notice. I've got yellow, grey and blue wash mitts and all of them are near black from ONR staining them through time. This doesn't happen when using a Rinseless like the N914 or Gloss Shop with a clean media from the get go, but then those products have things I don't like about them as well unfortunately.

@@Almost_Made_It I think that’s something that they tend to leave out when they’re demos about these products. All of my products I use distilled water to dilute them & when I’m washing or doing anything on the exterior I’m using deionized water also. When the ONR or other waterless washes as they say creates streaks it’s either the hardness from your water or the dilute ratio is off. But, I’m pretty sure the streaks or haze is coming from the hardness of your water. Badass car, man I would love to up keep that . Do you have a ceramic coating on it?
