Back before the Internet, when people went into psychosis, the content of the psychosis was based on their religion. Could still be extremely violent (rarely) because most mainstream religions have at least some violent rhetoric that could be clung to. Now that we have social media and conspiracy theories they also influence people who find themselves in psychosis. That's why this new mainstream conspiracy misinformation crap is dangerous. When women become violent in psychosis it's usually extremely twisted "selfless" intent meaning they kill those they love to spare them from whatever they believe is about to happen. I’ve been studying and involved in astrology for over 10 years, and it makes me sickened that insane evil people use it as a reason or excuse to be insane and evil. This all happened out here in the San Fernando valley. It was very strange to follow the story unfold. At first there were reports of a murder in some apartments in Woodland Hills and later on their was an incident on the 405 Freeway with two children found thrown out of a vehicle. Then the crash of a Porsche which resulted in the driver dying. It wasn’t until later that night that all those things were revealed to be connected. It was very weird. Very tragic indeed. I drove the 405 freeway in that traffic. It was honestly shocking to find out all of that happened.

Not just that, but having possibly seen her mother murder a father figure (don't know if bio or not), but also _seeing her infant sibling get hit by a car and die in the middle of a freeway._ And not just that, but the psychological stress of having to mourn the person who betrayed you and tried to murder you, because the murderer was her _mom._ And being only nine, even if her mother had shown abusive tendencies before, she's still young enough for her mom to be one of the most important and loved people in her life, if not _the_ most important and loved. This little girl is going through one of the worst situations a person can go through. I pray that she has family or someone close that can take her in, and that she has every ounce of support, mental and physical health care, safety, and love that she can ever need after this. All children deserve that, but it's rare. So I hope that she does get that, because my god, she's already been through enough.

This isn’t related but the last eclipse, I think it was like 2015 or 2016. There was this girl I was talking to that believed a portal was going to open up and a demon invasion was going to happen. I had to sit her down and go over why this isn’t the case. Showing that eclipses are more common that most people think, showed eclipse history, how there was a eclipse like 4 months before then in Europe. Anyways her parents are a part of a cult and I ended up helping her escape from the cult, helped her found a boyfriend and move a state away. She’s currently married and had a baby girl late last year and from what I can tell is happy and living a healthy normal. I kinda liked her but I didn’t feel it was appropriate because I was the one helping her escape and felt like it was semi taking advantage of her in a situation way.

@@ricciardilol4406 It's not a hot take, I feel like everyone should have a little will to live. Just because you have to experience so much trauma doesn't mean your life isn't worth living (shortened for the people skimming through replies) Also, this isn't something you can just brush off either. Just to make it clear, nobody can just "live" with this kind of trauma but that doesn't mean they should end it all

Literally the entire time the solar eclipse was going on a few days ago my mom and one of her friends just kept on and on about the end times. She was also afraid of that alert text thing that happened awhile back that you mentioned. I just shrugged it off, rolled my eyes and kept telling her to just enjoy the eclipse but of course anything that happens in this world whether it be inclement weather, solar/lunar eclipses, etc is a sign of the end times.

As a therapist who has been seeing a 9 year old girl for a while now… that girl will remember this VIVIDLY. Horrible insane tragedy. I’m so sorry she had to be born to someone like that. I always wish I can just adopt someone instantly when I hear things like this.

@RoKer13

@@PenellopeSweetz Yes, I’ve seen multiple therapists and continue to do so as needed. Just like visiting a doctor once a year, I honestly believe someone should see a therapist once a year too at least. It’s just nice to check in with someone who’s a 3rd party even if you’re not dealing with anything big. But I think the majority of people need a therapist. Doctors see doctors so it should work the other way too!

Honestly I’m not surprised. I see a therapist and it’s one of 2 career options I’m looking to go into. I hope more people will get a wellness check every now and then because last year for me if it weren’t for my friends that forced me to start going through my school system, then I really don’t know where I would be right now. It definitely helps to force people into situations like this because I’ve met others who have the same problem with lack of support or agency to start going or to tell others and you have to pry into them to be honest to themselves for once.

Stories of parents who harm/kill their own children always get me. It is unnatural to the order of life, just wrong and always gives me a sick feeling. Assuming how people might feel, projecting our own weaknesses and ignorancy upon others to express our disgust about a situation is very foolish onto itself. Some people are way more resilient than others, I don't see how your comment or the many many others stating the same thing helps to anything. At contrary I know people that would be pretty pissed off by hearing someone saying their daughter, niece or cousin is just so helpless that they will never recover from a situation like that. It's atrocious, awful that much is clear. But really what's with all that crap on top about thinking for others and almost guaranteeing how they will feel in the future. My hot take: History will remember the Internet in its current form as a mistake. People were never meant to have this much access to each other. Where previously, the population would on average be inoculated against bad ideas just due to lack of proximity to the sources, now all of the bad ideas can achieve a kind of critical mass. All the crazies collect into groups, and they can continually reinforce each other.

I view it as more of a maladaptation to insignificance and isolation. These people don't have much of value to care about and live for. Life is boring, people are distant, and craziness is different. It's exciting, it's novel, and the attention is brings is validating. I think of it as similar to how some philosophers think people would act in a perfect utopia. Wherein, they would go mad and engage in the most depraved and grotesque behavior in pursuit of novelty. Your idea is very interesting. I'll think on it more.

Well, the issue still is not 'the internet', but only if we want to be precise- which I would consider worthwile. The issue is the algorithms of the largest sites on the Internet. Content that is obviously peddling the most insane bs is spread and connected to _exactly_ the people who _might_ get roped in. The issue isn't that those opinions are out there to see; it's that they are being served up in a highly targeted way.
