Thank you for making this video. Absurdism is the most liberating and realistic concept for living the most rich and full life. Before I found Absurdism, I found Nihilism, and I loved it because I felt set free by the concept that life has no purpose. By nature, I’m a very optimistic person, and by nature, Nihilism is negative. So when I found Absurdism saying that life lacks purpose and you should embrace that, I felt like I had discovered the truth. Absurdism basically gives you radical freedom by releasing you from finding purpose in life and it encourages you to live your life to the fullest because it’s the only life we are certain to live. I believe Absurdism can change the world and make it a happy place for the duration of mankind.

It's the first time I watch a video of yours and believe me, you are amazing! I have spent literally 3 hours searching about Absurdism and I couldn't find a correct, simply explanation.I was understanding a few things about it but not in a full way. Every information that I read and video that watched made everything so damn complicated and as a beginner in the world of absurdism those complicated things didn't help me that much. Lucky for me that I found your channel. Now, I understand everything better. Thanks bro and you've got a thumbs up from me

I think this is so hard. I fall into the category that cannot accept it yet and I don't know what to do. When you said that life has no meaning and we need to accept it I literally broke down with an anxiety attack crying feeling like I don't want to exist. It freaks the crap out of me. Could you please do a video on how to escape suicidal thoughts? I try not to have them but I don't know HOW to accept this absurdism. Love u ❤️

Naturally_sofia, There is no exact way to get out of suicidal thoughts. Some people spend their entire life with them, but still find enjoyment. Some don't. I would try to find out if you have a predisposition towards suicidal thoughts, perhaps it is genetic. Maybe seeing a therapist would help you. I don't think a book or a ten minute video from Koi will help you. Only a life time of being strong and fighting these feelings will do that. You are strong enough to beat this though, Sofia. I promise you, you are.

Sofia, in the end all of these doctrines are theoretical at best. No one really knows anything beyond that which is apparent. In other words, you only know what your human brain can attain. No one has ever died and come back and explained what comes after or what the meaning of life is. Philosophy is fun, challenging and thought-provoking but it should be approached with a stillness of the mind and not with anxious thoughts or desperation.

I dont know if this is still relevant for you, but if your fighting depressed, bored, apathetic feelings DONT sit at home, thats the worst thing you can do. Take a walk in nature, do exercise that is gruelingly distracting while performing it, or hold onto someone (physically) you know. These things are really calming, and can help move you out of depressive or anxious feelings- and help you better come to terms with these statements.

Easily one of your best videos. I agree fully with the idea of a porpoiseless life, and that by itself is what makes life so beautiful, because when one realizes that, one gets rid of a huge baggage of both, expectations and assumptions that stang the being and its progress. When you realize there's no actual porpuse in life, you realize how free you are to explore and live a life as full as you want. There's no need for religion, only you can create your reality and discover true spirituality along the way.

Absurdism just gives up the fight to finding the meaning. Simply because you embrace absurdity doesnt mean you should give up trying to find the meaning of you should continue existing. Of course we won't understand everything right away, but we do learn more about the universe gradually over time.

I have been having this strange existential crisis. I would have these little spells where I forget all reality and totally question everything everywhere all at once. I'm still trying to overcome it, it's an empty feeling that I'm not real in a sense that nothing matters and nothing is anything but now I'm understanding that that's the way it's supposed to be, I've been brainwashed into thinking there's always meaning when in reality if the universe hypothetically there isn't.

I'm a Christian Existentialist, and I think absurdism could still be rectified with that concept, and even a cornerstone of faith in God. I have been fleshing out the concepts of meaning, nihilism, religion, and absurdism over the last bit of life, and I think the Judeo-Christian God wants us to embrace ALL THREE answers you describe in here: -Embrace Suicide: Death is a key part of Christianity, both physically and spiritually. Physically, we all die due to the original sin and continuing depravity of the fallen world. Adam and Eve introduce death and sin, physically. Also, there are countless times the phrase "die to yourself" is used as means to leave the world and its cycle of suffering for no reason. Spiritual Suicide is a critical principle for leaving the meaningless and futile spirituality of the world. -Embrace Religion: You die to yourself in order to be "born again" as a "new creation," which gives you a new spiritual body and a new heart for God. The slave to sin and meaningless is dead, and now the new life is based on conforming yourself to God and His purpose through study, prayer, fellowship, worship, etc... all the things the people of God use to get closer to God. -Embrace Absurdity: In 1 Corinthians, Paul contrasts the "wisdom" of the world with the "foolishness" of the cross. It is foolishness of God, coming down to the death-filled world as a mortal human, let alone live the life of a peasant to be publicly humiliated followed by being publicly executed as a criminal. This "foolishness" contradicts all human reason and wisdom, yet is the cornerstone of the faith. The absurdity that the solution to meaningless strife and pain was that of the God we worship doing the same thing for our benefit. It contradicts life's cycle, and we use it as an advantage to proclaim the antidote to nihilism.

Just wanted to point something out, the second option which Camus called philosophical suicide doesn't just apply to religions. It can also be giving yourself over to a system of thought given to you by society or a political party (this was important because Camus lived through the Nazi occupation of France). He wanted people to think for themselves completely and a have good time doing it.

According to machine elves on mushroom, they say the purpose of life is to love each and every single person who comes into your life, it is a love simulation. They also say we are here to experience each and every emotion we can ever experience as a human, so yes we do know why we are here :)

Koi this was a great video and I definitely see your perspective on this. Im a Christian however I'm not part of a religion, I'm non-denominational. I go to church every now and then, not because I have to but because I want to. I understand there are other Christians out there who are very bound by their religion and stick to the rules but that is not me. Im more spirit led than anything by the Holy Spirit. Im far from perfect and I accept Gods grace and love everyday. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we may have the choice to believe in Him or not. I choose to. To everyone reading, I just want to speak for the christians who might have misled you. A true Christ follower is not perfect, however he/she should strive to not judge or put anyone down for their beliefs. I respect everyones individual belief and wish love to everyone.
