Wild blackberries!! Have you ever foraged this delicious wild fruit before? I honestly like black raspberry much more, but blackberries are just far more abundant in my area! There were found at Meadowoods Farm!

They're a pest in Australia. Like a DECLARED weed. I have ate so many my digestive system told me next morning. Always seem to be around rivers. I have seen it to the point you can't see the river for the plants.

@@veliserbet6248 Yeah for sure lol. I eat both. Sometimes I like them slightly underripe personally, like a little harder and maybe a few red pieces on them, but if they're black berries and black, pick them. Just don't grab the red ones. Nothing bad will happen but it will be bitter and hard and very seedy. If they're overripe, it'll be too soft, stupidly sweet and sometimes parts will be broken. Nothing wrong with them per se, but not as good. -My non-expert opinion

I remember my biology teacher in high school would take us blackberry picking in a patch on campus, then bring homemade blackberry cobbler in for the whole class the next day. Easily one of my favorite teachers.

They're in absolute oversupply in Australia. In certain tourist areas the government actually sprays them and puts up warnings. In my area, they don't have the money so people eat them. But not that many people because they hate getting scratched so there's always enough to make you sick if you want to eat that many. Rivers are the best areas.

Do you think you might be thinking of mulberry? I'm not in any way trying to correct you. I am genuinely curious, because maybe 6 years ago, I had a couple trees randomly grow in my yard, and they started producing berries that looked just like black berries. Turns out, they were mulberry trees. Just as tasty in my opinion. We moved into a new property and planted blackberries, raspberries, and I badly wanted to grow mulberry just like my old house, but never got around to it. Well, 2 years in, we had another mulberry tree sprout up right next to my berry patch and it just started producing berries this year.

Remember picking blackberries as a kid. Dad would find Mountain Mint and we would rub it, ankles, waist, arms and neck to keep the chiggers and ticks off.

If you look closely you’ll see that some of the black ones has a slightly less shiny look - those are the sweetest ones. If you’re cooking them it doesn’t matter, but for eating raw it’s really worth making the destination.

They line the roads around the less developed areas in the greater Seattle area... and will take over a house if left alone... very invasive, if you own property you can be in for a fight to keep them under control... and they make amazing jams, jellies, preserves, pies... the good with the bad. Lol
