AC/DC - Night Prowler Somewhere a clock strikes midnight And there's a full moon in the sky You hear a dog bark in the distance You hear someone's baby cry A rat runs down the alley And a chill runs down your spine And someone walks across your grave And you wish the sun would shine 'Cause no one's gonna warn you And no one's gonna yell attack And you don't feel the steel Till it's hangin' out your back I’m your night prowler, asleep in the day Night prowler, get outta my way Yeah I’m the prowler, watch out tonight Yes I’m the night prowler, when you turn out the light Too scared to turn your light out 'Cause there's somethin' on your mind Was that a noise outside the window What's that shadow on the blind As you lie there naked Like a body in a tomb Suspended animation as I slip into your room I’m your night prowler, asleep in the day Yeah I'm the night prowler, get outta my way Look out for the night prowler, watch out tonight Yes I’m the night prowler, when you turn out the light I’m your night prowler, asleep in the day Yes I’m the night prowler, get outta my way Look out for the night prowler, watch out tonight Yes I’m the night prowler, when you turn out the light I’m your night prowler, break down your door I’m your night prowler, crawling across your floor I’m the night prowler, make a mess of you, yes I will Night prowler And I’m telling this to you There ain't nothing There ain't nothing Nothing you can do Shazbot Nanu nanu Writers: RONALD BELFORD SCOTT, ANGUS MCKINNON YOUNG, MALCOLM MITCHELL YOUNG

This song has some of Bon's best lyrics ever, IMO. The picture he paints is very visceral and chilling. It puts me in an alleyway in London, late 1800's, with a soupy white gray mist in the air, gas lamp lights trying desperately to push back the dark, and a dank cold that chills you to the bone. You're afraid to move, not knowing which way to go, sensing that there's someone very close who's there to do you harm, and although you squint your eyes trying to see thru the fog, you can't find where they're at. Fucking great imagery in those lyrics.

How do you know this was the last song he recorded? Yes this is the last song on the Highway to Hell but that doesn’t mean it is the last song he recorded, it could have been one of the other songs on the album. The order of songs on an album does not always mirror the order in which they were recorded.

@@klown839 Of course not. Just like when Judas Priest were taken to court, nothing was proven. The immense majority of people who like this song don't go on to murder anyone. It's hardly new anyway: it goes as far back as the Beatles' Helter Skelter; but not even the overtly direct lyrics of Ice T's Cop Killer sparked a flurry of such actions.

Well hello my fellow Brooks bit you're missing my whole damn point if you actually took time to read my comment you'd realize I'm actually talking about Bon Scott as being the best frontman in AC/DC everyone acknowledges and respects Brian Johnson for stepping in and being part of the greatest Album in AC/DC history and in rock history in back in black but nobody not Brian Johnson, Dave Evans nor that chucky doll looking fat bastard Axl Rose are nowhere near the showman nor frontman Bon Scott was. Bon Scott wasn't just a great frontman but he was one great showman because everytime he stepped on stage and had the mic in his hands he brought down the house with his powerful voice. Just go search some of his live performances and you'll see what I'm talking about and compare him to Brian Johnson's live performances and you'll see Bon Scott was untouchable he was head and shoulders above Dave Evans, Brian Johnson, and Axl Fat Bastard Rose.
