they weren't nazis. They were simply the German army. The Wehrmacht. They followed the order so they wouldnt be shunned by the German people and sent to prison. The real nazis were the Waffen SS. they were specifically loyal to hitler. The SS were the ones that were involved heavily on the Holocaust. The Wehrmacht was just the regular army. The Wehrmacht had NOTHING to do with the Holocaust. And it wasn't just the Germans that fought in Stalingrad. The Romanians, the Estonians, Hungarians, etc..... Why aren't you giving those countries shit?! How would you like it if you were given an order to invade and plunder a city and if you didn't do it, you get sent to military prison and probably executed? what would you do?
@nikos7437
8 жыл бұрын
i'm not trying to say that i am a hero. my point is that their deaths were in vain. they didn't die for their country but for hitler and for the capitalists who gave him the power to become a dictator. on the other hand the red army was really fighting for the freedom of ussr and the other countries. the problems that these soldiers had( germans, romanians etc) were the same problems that my country had(greece). but we faught back the nazi's(not all of us), even when greece was occupied by germany. Surely some people were obligated to obey and had no other choice, i won't disagree with that but most of them were on the nazi's side.
