hard to tell in the video, but perhaps the bubble in the mount lines up with the right line. i know people who prefer to mount scopes so they're level when the bubble is touching one of the two lines "more precise" than centering it between two lines.

Hello Ray, awesome channel and videos, sir-I really appreciate your clear and thorough delivery. Question: is that Spur Scope Mount an SP-4003B Ø34? A supplier here in Australia suggested an SP 4002 for the Nightforce ATACR 7 x 35-56 Fi. Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you using the AXMC or the AXSA? I’ve been told the AXSA only does caliber swaps for the short action (308 bolt face). I’m considering buying an AXSR and I’m wondering if it would be better to buy the AXSA?

Would like to ask a question. I have a very similar setup with the same spuhr mount. Had not seen the LRA send it and thought it would be a great addition. I just got it and would like to mount it similar to yours. My question is this... I have never mounted anything to the holes in my spuhr. Do you have to buy the rail from spuhr or will any brand work. I have the mounting screws that came with the scope mount. Would appreciate any thoughts on mounting that you have Thanks Ray shepard
@XRING
5 жыл бұрын
Ray Shepard Hello Ray, great question. You really need to buy the mount from Spuhr because it will have the locating holes that keep everything in perfect alignment. On one particular rifle I had to machine a small standoff so that the LRA would clear the chassis. It was on an AR-10 setup. You shouldn’t have to worry about that. If you are doing a lot of hiking or rucking you will want to mount it vertically like I do.

I had a feeling that was what you were going to say. I found it for sale for around 60 bucks... it’s always the hidden cost that start to add up on these builds. Appreciate the quick reply. Love the channel. Would like to see you review the Tikka Tac A1 if you ever get the opportunity
@XRING
5 жыл бұрын
Ray Shepard Thanks Ray. Also, keep an eye on the main Spuhr mounting clamp. I have had 2 units fracture and break the mounting plate on two different AI rifles. You know I always use torque wrenches for exact tightening specs but they broke anyway. They were replaced under warranty very quickly but as much as they cost I shouldn’t have to worry about that. I am thinking of machining some out of titanium just so I don’t have to worry about it happening again.
@rayshepard2222
5 жыл бұрын
X-RING I’ll definitely watch out for that. That’s surprising on a mount that is so expensive. What poundage did you torque it to?
@XRING
5 жыл бұрын
Ray Shepard I went 18in lbs on the ring mounts. Spuhr recommends 15-25 depending on the scope. The clamp that broke on mine as well as a few other isolated incidents, are recommended by Spuhr at 5nm or approximately 44-45 inch lbs.
