“It’s not like Phoenix to not hear the other side of the argument!” Ummm. Let’s see. Apollo Justice he made an irreversible approach to taking down Kristoph which threw the country completely off kilter. This is a LONG time coming. Apollo and Phoenix have had communication issues for a LONG time culminating in Apollo’s OUTSTANDING testimony in DD. And this is the ultimate settling of the score. Phoenix blots him out again taking full AJ form and going full chessmaster on Apollo, which was the VERY thing Apollo AND Edgeworth anticipated to occur in 5-5. (And Phoenix said haha, remember my 1st trilogy bluffs?) But this time the table is turned and Apollo has found himself ill-prepared against the very strategies that caused their issues to begin with, in the same setting that Phoenix started a trilogy long mess. And Apollo LAST time WAS prepared and got blind-sided by a completely different strategy style. (As in “no strategy”) And although it’s just for an orb that can snowball into a revolution, if we LOSE, Dhurke could have theft charges thrown at him. And if he’s sent to Khurai’in…yeah this is actually not far off from the previous death penalty level stakes. And I assume Phoenix knows that too. So this is a BIG one. And Paul Atishon coming in on his palanquin had me ON THE FLOOR. What a fantastic joke.
@JJ_R
3 ай бұрын
I stand by Phoenix’s loss of his AJ poker face as a big loss, but the start of this trial helps me think differently; Apollo is doing his best not to freak out as he’s bracing himself for battle, Athena is internally freaking out, and Phoenix is just standing there like it’s another day at work. You can’t tell if he’s also internally freaking out, or if his confidence actually has ground to stand on. Whereas Phoenix learned to stand on his own two feet after Bridge to the Turnabout, this will be Apollo’s chance to surpass his mentor… even if he has help from Athena. …Still, at the risk of bashing Athena, it’s not like she’s that good on her own either, so her help may not be as much of an advantage against Phoenix as Apollo would hope for. Paul, just walking, looks weird to me.

The Defiant Dragons themselves aren’t doing anything criminal. As long as Ema doesn’t know who Dhurke is (or as long as she feigns ignorance for Apollo’s sake), she can’t arrest him just for being affiliated with the Dragons. Besides, Dhurke hasn’t been convicted of a crime at this point. The only one he’s suspected of was a murder from 23 years ago, which is beyond the statute of limitations in the American courts. Judging by how 4-3 ended with Machi, it’s possible they just don’t care enough to extradite him.

After all the games, after all the cases you played as Phoenix, looking at his mannerisms in court and reading his inner thoughts and his insecurities as he took each case by the seat of his pants, facing cold, hostile prosecutor after tough, lying prosecutor, you finally see what is like to face the Man, the Myth, the Legend. You get to see what those prosecutors saw, with none of the benefits of knowing his inner monologue. What does he really think of this case? His client? Of you and your tactics? What tactics is he bringing to the table? Is his case as solid as he is giving the impression that it is? It's all a mystery, hidden behind his near-perfect poker face. And you're getting the full brunt of it. Enjoy.

The Crystal of Ami Fey is not the same thing as the Founder's Orb. The Founder's Orb is a holy Khura'inese relic stolen from Khura'in. But nope, it was the real Phoenix all along. And I didn't expect it to come up in the final case or anything. And so, here we are. I also have a bad feeling about Paul Atishon. Also how did he know what part of the cave to shove them down too? Also also why didn't Dhurke or Apollo bring up the fact that Paul Atishon could have killed either of them to Ema or Wright?!

@@whisperstar13 Yes but Paul admitted it in public so I feel like there would be something there plus I feel like Phoenix should have been told his client could've caused harm or more to Apollo and Dhurke.

Sometimes I feel like the whole reason we have this civil trial is because someone said "hey since we're using 3d models now... what if we flip Phoenix's pose and animations... and now he's at the prosecutor's bench???" Everyone else said BRILLIANT 😂

For the sake of the man who raised him, Apollo must face off against his greatest mentor. Duel of the Fates level drama.

This was literally such a crazy moment for me - a CIVIL CASE in Ace Attorney, not to mention who you're up against? This singlehandedly made the game for me. 9:26 Literally impossible in the real world, but I digress.

I mean, at least Phoenix and Apollo are only going head-to-head in a civil trial and nothing too serious! Right…?

I looked up to see whether Atishon's birthday is November 7th in regions that put the day before the month, but apparently not. It would've been fitting if that were his birthday for us, since that's a possible date for Election Day.

something's certs off about phoenix here. i momentarily considered that a certain master of disguise had returned, but i don't think he was actually good at hiding his brooklish accent or his aggressive demeanor so if this IS an imposter then red isn't sus phoenix on the right feels so, so, so wrong

Funny how when Athena asks what kind of case they have, she names features of Fey cases. "Another locked room mystery?" 2-2 is quite literally a locked room, and 3-5 is inaccessible to most people. "A suspect with a flimsy alibi?" This could be any case but the true culprit of 1-2 once you start digging, and the defendant of 3-5 have almost no one to confirm where they were. "Or ooo a dying message?" 1-2 has the first instance of a "dying message"

One of many reasons why I absolutely love this game. The first time we’ve had a civil case, and it’s our two favorite protagonists duking it out! (Plus it’s probably the first time Ace Attorney has acknowledged that other types of court cases exist besides murder and theft.) Also, this was definitely a pleasant surprise when I first played this game. The trailer for the game did hint at it; they showed Phoenix and Apollo standing on opposite sides of the courtroom with Phoenix saying something like, “All right Apollo, let’s see what you’ve learned.” But from how that was framed, I honestly thought it was just Phoenix holding a mock trial to observe what Apollo’s learned with Nick playing the “prosecutor.” I never imagined it was an actual court case with the two of them facing off.

9:26 The odds would be literally zero because it would be a clear conflict of interest and one of the clients would have to get a new attorney. Not that legal ethics have ever been important in the PW series, though. :D

While there is a conflict of interest, there are also established procedures for allowing both sides of a conflict to be represented by lawyers from the same law firm - both parties have to give informed consent to proceeding despite the conflict, and the conflict has to relate to a narrow class of issues, such as competing for ownership of a specific asset. At least, that's the case here in the UK. Japanifornia probably has its own rules.

Pretty sure the only prosecutors we aren't talking to right now are Manfred, Godot, and Sad Monk. We're still buddies with Edgeworth, Franciszka, Klavier and Simon. That's not bad.

You have reached the most tense moment of the game, one thing I will tell you is that depending on which trial day you lose in, you will have 2 bad endings, like in dual destinies
