An unarmed mother had the sack to run into the building and save the children she could, but grown men wearing body armor, helmets, and armed with ARs, were too pussy to run inside and shoot the gunman? Those pigs need to pay. They didnt just fail, they intentionally sacrificed those children to save their own skin. I agreed with ABs perception of the interview of the little boy. He wasn't saying the child shouldn't be able to talk about it or implying it was somehow more egregious to talk about it than to experience it. It was simply the way the interviewer was pushing him, as if he was looking to get an emotional reaction from him. That was clearly their goal. The camera froze close on the child's face following the questions. They were waiting for an emotional response. It gets views. They want views. So even though the didn't push _that_ hard, he still nudged a little too much for my taste, considering it's a child.

I visited Uvalde a month ago. I went to the memorial in the town square and it was devastating. The families have chosen photos, handwritten notes, well loved stuffed animals, and other mementoes for their individual child’s memorial. I went to a local restaurant for dinner afterwards. There were a lot of families in the restaurant with elementary aged school kids. Part way through it hit me that Uvalde, which has a population of 15K, would only have one elementary school. So most, maybe even all, of the kids in the restaurant were students at Robb Elementary. It gutted me. As an adult I felt so much shame about how we are failing these children.

If someone is choking 1. Encourage them to keep coughing for as long as they can. 2. If their airway gets completely obstructed (absolutely no sound coming from them) give 5 back blows with the heel of your hand on their mid back in an upward motion. 3. If no success get them to do the himlicke menouvera on themselves over a chair. 4. If no luck all you can do is keep monitoring their heartrate and start CPR as soon as they are unresponsive and no pulse. (Just compressions as the breaths can push the foreign body further down) Edit to add: OBVIOUSLY call for an ambulance.

Not to mention all the research showing that having a gun around just leads to a lot of accidents. And there's both volatile teachers and students, do we really want there to be guns available for a student who just had a horrid day and is angry at someone? Sure in theory it should be locked away, but that leads back to point one, where just because you should practice gun safety doesn't mean that people do. You have to consider what it's actually going to be in practice, not what you would like it to be. I don't see how arming teachers en masse would end up any other way than increased school deaths.

The irony of the idea that teachers should be armed is that they’d need to be tested for competence to operate a gun. They’d need to be assured that their gun couldn’t be accessed by students. That’s literally what we’re asking for of all gun owners in general to be screened for.

I've been thinking that yes we need smaller caliber guns with small ammo capacity if you're trying to defend your home that's usually all you need if you want anything more you need a mental evaluation every 2 years and if you fail you can't apply to get high caliber guns after you take therapy and still limited to how many guns you can buy within a year.

WHAT? You guys don’t seem to understand. A nazi deathsquad WILL break in to my house one day. And when that happens, I’ll use my civilian-issued semi automatic rifle to defeat that highly trained group of murderers with automatic military-grade weaponry. And what if the government go under and we have to rebel? Me and my buddies need our semi-automatic rifles to take out the governments hypersonic missiles and jets.
@Enorbs96
2 жыл бұрын
@@hithisthers7214 I'm a California gun owner and our guns are limited to 10 rounds. If your rifle is "featureless", aka doesn't have a pistol grip and has a fixed stock, then your magazine can be normally dropped with the button. If your rifle has a pistol grip/ adjustable stock, you must have a fixed magazine and either side load or open up the rifle to remove it. My AR is that way and it's basically useless. If someone broke in I would probably be safer just grabbing a knife than fumbling around trying to jam rounds in the side of it. As someone who enjoys shooting paper targets occasionally it's annoying, but I understand and am in favor of regulation. The thing is, there's too many guns out there already and there's no getting rid of them. People like me follow the laws, but it's very easy not to so it's pretty much just an honor system. I think a handgun / shotgun are really all anyone needs in regards to home defense. Even Ethan has a shotgun for that purpose. The gun "culture" makes a lot of excuses but an AR penetrates too much and will just blow through all the walls so it's stupid to use in a home situation and against the government 99% of them would be helpless and untrained/ out of shape anyway. Hence "well regulated militia" which is supposed to be where you prepare for that and none of these people do.

I think one of the worst things is that children don’t fully understand the weight of the situation, he knows the fear he felt in the situation and the sadness he feels now but when he gets older and he understand how many people failed him and thinks about the milestones he experiences his cousin will never get to, he’ll fully realize just how fucked up the whole thing is and how the cops (who kids grow up idolizing and see as a status of security) sat there while his friends died and he felt the most terror he ever had in his life. My heart breaks for the kid and for the years he has ahead of him where he’ll always be identified as a school shooter survivor, have to deal with survivors guilt and PTSD and the rest of his life is forever altered because people paid to protect citizens, children specifically, didn’t see him and his friends worth the risk of their own lives. The whole situation is so screwed up, they need to get proper gun control, a more accessible mental health treatment option, better security at school and cops who actually will run into danger instead of away.

I swear I remember the crew going over the ACE fest website and it saying free food and Ethan was like “how is that possible it’s gonna be so expensive?”

I was thinking the same thing. I vaguely remember him saying "how is that possible" about it cuz everything else they said would be free made sense but the food part I was even thinking how the hell they would do that but maybe we are all trippin🤷🏻

No, Zach said "free food as well," but AB corrected it. And ethan mentioned how free food would be insane and not smart.

Can’t they just watched the podcast where they watched the video to find the clip?

Ok but if Mike Majlak comes on the show, Ethan *has* to start off with "Yo you're in trouble... THAT CRYPTO SHIT" 💀

I'm a teacher that has gone through active shooter "training" multiple times and it's such a frustrating.. all of this, and the fact it continues to happen, and nothing is being done..... it breaks my heart.
