just interviewed with an Alibaba team lead and he was a combination of cutting off often and always what do you think type. very difficult interview indeed. really appreciate your summary at this point, and I also want to add that for a lot of interviews, if they are directly with the hiring manager/team members, and you feel uncomfortable or not able to communicate smoothly through out the interview process, then I think it might be a sign/red flag that this team or role might not suit you anyways... I have had uncomfortable interviews then got and offer situation, I rejected all of them for this reason... I agree with your "don't blame yourself" and move on attitude :D

This is a great point and thank you for the comment! Interview should be bi-directional that you also gets a sense whether the culture fits you. Follow your heart and be brave to say NO!

Stumbled on your channel and loving your content. This was very helpful and I realize now that one particular interview I did which I thought went really well but didn't convert was likely a case of the "seems nice" interviewer type. Oh well.

Thanks for the video! Can you talk about a specific example or we can do a mock interview while you record it? It makes more sense when you can critique an interview directly.

Thanks for the feedback. I've thought about same idea, but when I tested it, the video turned out to be less structured as people have different levels of knowledge. Critiques useful to some one may not be helpful to others. So I thought providing a possible answer would be most efficient to help people get an idea how to approach the problem.

I have a follow-up question. Could you give some suggestion on the onsite interview? Is there any specific strategy? Like how long I should prepare for it? How good is good? I feel that I basically know every part but not sure if I am good enough. For example, I think I am comfortable with the case questions, but do not know how should improve and which part should I improve. I am a new grad and going to have my first onsite nearly. Pretty nervous. Many thanks!

hey Emma, I wonder how would you think about this question. In t-test if p-value is lower than significant level, how would you explain it to PM? I am trying to explain t-test, p values, and significant level. still find it too complicated. thank you!

P-value is a measure of whether our results are statistically valid. That is, with a sufficient p-value, we know that our results can’t be explained by something other than the feature changed specified in the A/B test. If p-value is lower than the significant level, it means that it's very unlikely the results are due to chance, so we can conclude the treatment is better than control and we recommend launch the change.

Hi Emma, Thank you so much for your videos, I have been following your blogs since last few weeks as I got laid off from my company due to pandemic and as a visa candidate I only have few more weeks left to maintain my status. I gave almost 6 interviews and I felt I performed well but I was rejected everywhere, I fail to understand why I was rejected and I am not able to understand the problem with me as I have'nt gotten any feedback from the interviewers, while as I have solved every coding, probability, SQL question. pls help
